It has been over a year since I have been here. The last time I remembered, there was always a wait, especially during breakfast time and during the holidays. This time, the place was empty, 3 days before Christmas, and on the morning of a busy shopping day, right by the mall! That should have been my first clue. Second clue – silverware with food on it, which we had to return. We should have left, but stuck it out. We all 4 ordered breakfast plates, all with crispy bacon, except for my son, who ordered a special omelet. It took forever to get a waitress to come and take our order. She was not friendly, but assumed she was stressed out with the holidays. Food arrived, and everything was semi-warm. The eggs look an unusual bright yellow color (almost like food coloring was used?), pancakes were dry and flat, bacon was disgusting and undercooked, and grits the worst ever. My mom complained to the waitress, who never showed up until we were finished with the meal (what little we ate of it). She didn’t say a word as my mom complained, gathered the plates and left. She never refilled our water or my son’s coke which had been empty for 15 minutes. There were 2 men sitting next to us who had been waiting the entire time we were there just to get their food. They became rude and unruly. The whole experience was awful and I cannot find any place other than this to post a review. It is no surprise this place is empty – do not waste your time or money, this place either needs a fresh start, or to close, which it appears is well on the way. This was the first time in a very long time that I left zero tip, and still felt as if I was not compensated or, at the very least, offered an apology for the poor service and less than poor quality food. Our bill was $40 – I am still upset that I lost this money today.
