The food was very good when I visited with a girlfriend. Both of us are picky eaters and we loved it. The restaurant was packed, loud, service was tough to get and the restroom was pretty bad. Perhaps we just caught them at the end of a busy night.
Order the shrimp enchiladas. Amazing selection of tequila Order a drag cucumber margarita and have them add some jalapeos – delicious!Order specialities not standard tourist fare.
I found this place when I first moved here. The menu sounded authentic so I was excited to try it. Boy, was I ever disappointed. The food was not the problem; it actually had good flavoring. The prices were reasonable and the surroundings were clean. What was awful was the staff. They were rude to the extreme! The staff thought we did not understand Spanish and spoke unkindly of us at the bar. I thought I was alone in my initial reaction to the place, but recently a friend told me she had the same experience. Shame on you Agave! Never going back again!
The best food on the beach. I could have eaten here every night during my beach vacation. The food was fabulous, the sangrias were brilliant, and the servers were phenomenal.
Food was great but the service is horrible. Dined at Agave last night. Very busy which is a good sign but very unorganized. We had three different servers but very inattentive. We had asked for our bill during the dinner so we would have in time after eating. Finished eating our entrees and had paid for bill. Had some guacamole and salsa left. After asking one server for more chips who never came back caught another one who said it would be a 1.50 more for chips. Come on. waited and waited finally chips. She brought back my 20 and said they were on the house. That was nice but what ever happened to service with a smile. The gentleman server was pleasant and apologetic but the one middle age female server was not happy to serve us. Maybe because it was only a table for two. Maybe we were attractive. Not sure. Guess I will stick to VIP.
A great family meal. There was a steady line up for seats tonight! and after eating at Agave I can see why. We started with a pitcher of Margaritas and Sangria and both were very good. The tamales and nachos appetizers were excellent as was the rest of the meal. I certainly enjoyed my enchiladas mole, and the fish tacos were a big hit. Our sever was very knowledgable and funny too. We would recommend this restaurant to anybody who likes good Mexican food.
Save your money!. Food was over priced and not much flavor. After several trips to this restaurant, the service is consistently bad. Asked for more salsa and they charged us $2! Obviously catering to tourists who they will never see again. Time to find another Mexican establishment who wants our business.
