Great Breakfast!!. When a place has improved, I will be the first to say so, and I have to say I had an excellent breakfast of french toast with strawberries this morning. The service was attentive and I don’t know where they got the strawberries, but they were sweet and fresh. Since we keep our boat at Port Tarpon, we use this restaurant a lot. It has made enormous strides in the last few months to improve its menu and service….to the point that we find ourselves coming back to the dock to eat, rather than packing a lunch.24 Jun, 2013It’s ok for a place to grab some lunch while out boating. The burger is the way to go. Stay away from the fish and chips and the fish dip. The clam strips are so so clam strips, but they have these home made chips that are fantastic. It always takes forever to get the meal, although the waitresses are attentive and continue to fill your beverage as you wait. We have been there 4 times, so it’s not just a one off. Breakfast was a little quicker. It’s slow (30-40 min), and you know the waitresses know its slow when they come by and tell you it’s almost ready. I continue to try new items. but I know I should stay with that first burger on the menu. If you aren’t in a rush, that burger is worth the wait.

I just noticed that all 3 of the people who wrote a positive review have only liked and reviewed this one restaurant.

Worth the Trip!. Loved the chowder. Husband had the Seafood Pasta, which of course I had to sample & it was excellent. Lots of big, perfectly cooked shrimp, muscles, small scallops in a tasty red sauce. I had the platter & although everything was nicely cooked and there was lots of it, it tasted kind of bland compared to the pasta. My fault, not theirs. I should have remembered that I don’t really like battered & deep fried that much anymore. Small pumpkin tart to share was the perfect ending. Even the coffee was good. Staff was friendly & helpful.

Conchfest Oct 2012. We read about the Conchfest in our local paper and thought…what fun! When we got to the Dockside, we asked for the specials and were told there was only one…the seafood boil. ok…so we ordered one helping and it was ok. It could have had more seasoning but it was ok. Portion was generous and the seafood was done. So we waited for the music to start and, expecting some upbeat Florida or Beach Boys or Marley type or even some tropical jazz, we got downer music from the 80s . The singer had a lovely voice but the song choices sure were not yelling PARTY. The staff attention was feast (3 at a time) or famine (none even though they had to walk right by us) but none told us there was even conch on the menu. We ordered the beer battered fish…mediocre at best. The batter lacked flavor and was not crispy as it should be.We will give this place another try because maybe they were just having an off day or so we hope. Train the staff, music appropriate to the event and work on the seasonings.

Now that’s a Fishermans Platter. The Fishermans Platter was awesome! Way more food than I could eat, just the fish would have filled me up! The shrimp were so tasty, you don’t even need sauce! And the atmosphere, very nice, waterfront views of boats coming and going and the decor is Very well done!

Love it!. Love this place! On the water and a casual atmosphere. The food was great as well as the service. It just opened, so be patient. Go there to sit and enjoy!
