Another fine meal at derby lanes!. If you want to have a great meal and bet on the dogs, this is for u! the meal is top notch, the service is too! We had Lilly and the man waiter, i keep forgetting his name, but he is right there when i want something, and he knows what i want and need, and he asks me, i don’t have ask him, now that’s service! Lilly was the waitress, smiles, friendly, cute, and professional also!the food was wonderful, lamb chops, snow crab legs, seafood soup, stuffed shrimp, baked fish, and a full line of things to drink! they have fresh oysters on the half shell, but i would like to see some battered and fried oysters, thats the way i like to eat them!This is the best meal around tampabay! we eat out alot, and let me tell you, you can’t beat this deal and the fun you can have betting on the dogs! for a few bucks, its worth a chance, give it a try!30 Sep, 2013MEAT NEEDS MORE COOKING!!. The meat on the carving table needs more cooking, the prime rib was raw, not rare! when the turkey drumstick won’t come away from the breast, its not cooked enough, i don’t care what the meat thermometer says! and the portion, well prime is not like a slice of lunch meat!! come a cross with some of it !! ask me if i want a slice or real piece of prime rib to eat? there is no end cut on this prime rib, the entire piece is raw! and the ham, it can use some more cooking time on it too! overall, its an excellent value and excellent meal, and my wife and I really enjoy it. The service is wonderful, and im glad there are no booths, only table with some good chairs to relax in! parking is by the valet, and that works for me! a place with some class to it, for a change!! I wish i could get deepfried battered oysters, im not into raw ones! maybe i need to talk to the waitress for some! The stafff does everything possible to make you happy here!! i want a job calling the races for them, i have a nice deep voice, and love watching the dogs race, its exciting to everyone there!! you bet it is !!
Derby lane buffet. Just had a wonderful dinner there. Prime Rib was perfect! Fingerling potatos salted just right. Shrimp was excellent. Great service, and was surprised at the quality for the price. Would go again !!!!
None better Than Derby Lane. The most BANG for your buc in the whole Tampa St. Pete area. The place is spotless. The resturant allway’s has a very good deal. But the all you can eat buffet is awwsome!! The last time we went it had Prime Rib, crab claws, stuffed lobster tails they were tails filled with lobster stuffing and very good, Big shrimp . The thing is what they put out for you to eat taste good. They don’t just fill spots up with junk even the veg and taters are tasty . The place is run with pride.
One time was great…one time was average.. The first time I tried the buffet, it was pretty good – the only thing not quite up to par were the oysters. They didn’t have a very good flavor. The staff is constantly working to keep the buffet line stocked and clean. Service is ok. The second time to the buffet wasn’t quite as good. Went home with a serious belly ache. Prime rib has always been good – fresh shrimp, lots of salad fixins. Worth a try.
Hit a good Qinella and its FREE !!. I love Derby Lane and its really fun to play the Dogs and eat the buffet at the same time. But if you want something REALLY SPECIAL …………..go downstairs, outside and get a greasy cheeseberger (heavenly) and an order of freshly fried fries in a wax cup, douse it with ketsup and away you go !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really, it will clog your arteries, but its worth the risk. Best of luck with the puppies too !
Derby Meat. They used to have a good prime rib, NOT anymore!
