See you soon in 2015. We came across this place by accident as we were looking fir directions to Tarpon Lakes, well what a great accident it turned out to be. We decided to leave our packed lunch and ordered the pulled pork sandwich it was just fantastic, The owner was so friendly he took the time to show us his smoker that was outside that was full of all sorts of delicious food. We are from the UK and this was such a treat to see just how it was cooked. We Are due to return again in June and cannot wait to return to this fantasic place Well done from Dee and Martin Wales UK
Pulled Pork. Done the way it should be.24 Jan, 2015Absolutely incredible. This has been one of my most satisfying dining experiences ever. I walked in to sit down and have lunch. I saw immediately this was a real traditional BBQ place. No table servers, the owner was at the cash register, you place your order there and find a table, then wait until your number gets called. I came in wanting a pulled pork sandwich, my usual first order at a new BBQ place. They have two, a plain and a North Carolina style. The Carolina style has a vinegar based sauce, which is next on my list. I got a plain pulled pork, side of Cole slaw, which they promptly prepared. The meat was smoked to perfection, just the right degree of hickory, not overpowering at all, the meat was still tender and moist, no gristle or globs of fat, generously piled on the bun. There was a selection of sauces for what ever regional style of BBQ you prefer. I went with Toni the Tiger sauce, the one with the skull and crossbones on it. It was only slightly hot by my standards, but rich and flavorful, which is important to me in a hot sauce. The Cole slaw was homemade and tasty, overall the bbq and meal was the absolute best I’ve had in this area, even counting the guys with trailers on the weekend in parking lots and small shops. There’s a whole other side to the dining experience, the photos and memorabilia on the wall, and the obvious admiration and respect for those who have served in uniform, the comraderie only people who put it all on the line for freedom share was so strong in there it was palpable and humbling. This is a truly wondrous place to enjoy a hearty meal.
Good food. Consistency is a factor here the food is always good, the size of the meals are not very large but the flavor does it all, I’m a business owner and I understand that quality can not always come in big boxes, trust me on this one!now if you want more you can order extra side or a full extra meal. Supporting the small local business.
Back for the 2 nd time. No disappointment. Great BBQ.15 Mar, 2014Nice smoke ring on the brisket. Pulled pork great flavor, you don’t need to add sauce. Baked beans very good too, they had added meats from the pit.
The Bomb. Best BBQ I have eaten outside of Texas and I have eaten at some of the very best. Craig, the owner does a straight A’ job of putting this place on the map. The kind of place that you might be tempted to eat the brisket if a slice fell to the floor….
We went to eat here as a family and it was really a pleasant meal. The food tasted fantastic and the service was above average. Great family atmosphere.
WOW!!! We just finished eating at Frankie’s Patriot BBQ!!! I haven’t even left the restaurant yet and I wanted to write a review!! Mmmmm, Mmmmm, Mmmmmm! We ordered the pulled chicken (YUM!!), BBQ ribs, homemade kettle fries (YUM!!), mac and cheese and fried okra! It was all delicious! You place your order when you walk in, seat yourself, and get your own drinks. As stated on their website, you might want to call ahead as they make everything fresh, so sometimes they might run out of a particular meat. The atmosphere is very warm, welcoming, and friendly…you feel like you are visiting friends! We will DEFINITELY be coming back as Frankie’s has the BEST BBQ around! You can smell it from the parking lot before you even walk in!! I highly recommed this restaurant 🙂 You will not be disappointed, I promise!!
