Worst, Worst, Worst!. Been coming to St Pete for years. Thought we’d give it a try, because we have never been. Started by calling. Was immediately put on hold. Waited on hold for over 22 mins (have the call logged to prove it) they never answered. While I was we drove to the restaurant. Got a seat (that was the only good thing that happened) Food took forever. …FOREVER!!!!! Waiter never checked on us. NEVER Brought refills. NEVER asked me for another drink. Worst EVER. Doesn’t even deserve one star.
Christmas nightmare. 2014 Christmas day. I called ahead for reserved seating however it turned out to be a joke….a bad joke. When we went to the reception area the girl there tried her best not to notice me. I was persistent and announced the name which she never found but pretended she finally did. Then she asked for the cell # which she pretended to write down. However, when we approached her an hour and a half after the promised 20 minutes she said she called and got no answer. She must have pretended that too because her phone # was not on the call log. Then she said she also came out and screamed our names…we were sitting at the picnic bench at the front door so again…pretend! But what astounded our party of four was that the food was even worse than the service. The prime rib tasted rotten. There was no juice for it as advertised. There was no butter for the very stale roll. The mash potatoes were more like a plaster cast than food…the drinking glasses were plastic, filthy, and so greasy they slid out of your hand when picked up! The veggies might have been okey if they had cooked them. Oh…the only reason we were finally unlucky enough to eat there at all was because after our experience with the pretend receptionist; (as we were leaving) we asked a waiter assisting outside diners at picnic tables if we could order and eat outside and he told us we could. We all agreed we should have just kept walking. STAY AWAY…FAR AWAY!!!!
Made a reservation for Christmas day brunch at noon. Arrived at 1145, was seated at 1pm and the food was cafeteria grade. It’s the last time we’ll ever visit.
Thanksgiving day was our first time to eat at the restaurant. We signed in with the hostess and was told it was a 30 to 35 minute wait. She took my cell phone number and said she would call us when our table was ready. We went to the downstairs bar to wait and noticed we had no cell phone service. We were confused on how the hostess was going to let us know. After bringing this up to the bartenders one went to the hostess desk to let her know. A man came and said they tried to call us but we said we had no cell phone reception. We all agreed a better method is needed. Once he sat at the table we wait 10 mins. with no acknowledgment. I flagged a waiter down and he came over to the table his name was David. He apologized and offered us a complimentary bowl of clam chowder which we excepted. Once David took over our table he provided excellent service. My husband ordered the thanksgiving special and I had a shrimp Po boy both were very good. Plus the complementary clam chowder was delicious. Restaurant needs some tweaking and updating but overall the experience considering the day was okay. We are planning on returning and would recommend.
Would rather be stabbed than go here again. Came here because of proximity to the beach. Wish we had looked at reviews first. Food was usual but service was HORRIBLE. No server for about 10 minutes. Received drinks (4 waters and a Coke) 10 minutes after that. Server made audible sigh and attitude changed when we said we were splitting checks. Saw our server eating fries from a plate being taken to one of his tables. Our server took a tone that made me feel I was interrupting his day. Paid cash because I’m not letting that place anywhere near my credit card.
Horrible Then And Horrible Now. The first time we went about a year ago they seemed way under staffed, the menu was a book, the prices were too high for the quality of food and it took forever to get seated and to get the food. We said we would not go back. BUT a couple of weeks ago we gave it another try because it was the only place close that was open and there were plenty of tables, bad mistake. We stood at the entrance to be seated, employees were walking by left and right with no acknowledgement of us for 10-15 minutes. Right when we were ready to leave a girl walks up to seat us, one of the same ones that watched us wait there for almost 20 minutes. She was rude, no apology for the wait, and acted like she didn’t know what the hell she was doing. I thought it was another customer at first. We had a party of six and was waiting to for them to get a table ready. After waiting another fifteen minutes not knowing where the heck she went we finally said screw it and went down to The Brass Monkey, which isn’t the best but better than this hell-hole
Worst waiter we have ever experienced. No customer service skills and very rude.
