Bad service. Took us 45 minutes to get our soup appetizer, an hour + to get our meal. After waiting 40 minutes after placing our order our waitress told us we wouldhave to wait a while longer because another party was in front of us, the correct response would have been to comp our app or bring us a free app. Our entrees came out at different times and were done wrong (grilled when we asked for blackened). The salad was not made with the lettuce as advertised and way too much dressing. The waitress was not apologetic.
Drove by looking for something new. Stopped and walked in, so cute, and clean! Everything fresh! No freezer here! Wanted the fresh burger, but dove onto the lobster Mac and cheese instead. Ultimate comfort food on a chilly night. So good. Also had wing special, love the garlic/parm! Will go back for their burger. Terri, our waitress was excellent! Menu has a good variety to choose from. A must go to if your hungry. Beer selection was worthy too!
$2 bloody Mary’s before 4 pm. Can’t beat that.
Great atmosphere but not impressed with the food at all. Grouper nuggets and sandwich did not seem fresh at all… tasted very fishy which is not normal for real grouper. The onion rings were a good attempt, just a little soggy. Gator bites could use a different batter.
Nice place, Robin was great and food was tasty! I would recommend this place.
2 Thumbs Up!. I had read some reviews out here and thought I would meet some family members for a nice Saturday lunch…this place exceeded my expectations! Great food, quaint atmosphere, clean, and very relaxing! I would highly recommend!!! Will definitely be back and will recommend to my friends and associates!
Ricks reef. On Labor Day, we went around 1:00pm, 3 people at bar, and the restaurant was slow.We waited over 10 min for our drink order, ther server brought our soft drinks and disappeared. The bartender ignored the tables while talking to his 3 customers. We waited over 20 more minutes and the server never reappeared. We couldn’t get the bartender or the manager’s attention to even pay for our sodas. We guessed $5.00 and left……The menu is pretty much the same as any bar food in the area, but a few dollars more. The design/ layout of the menu itself (like a local beach newspaper) is creative, but the food selection it contains is limited and copied from other places. There are many better, cheaper, and more original menus only blocks away. I live on St Pete Beach. My wife and I eat out often. There are many good locally owned restaurant/bars here. Rick’s Reef is NOT one of them.Try Willys, Sloppy Pelican, Twisted Tarpon, Sea Hags, Toasted Monkey, Salty Rim, The Wharf, to name but a few. All are good and have a good view. What a shame because this place was really good years ago under different management –(on that note Riptides is an awesome locals bar). I even went to the old Reef for my birthday a few times….
