Lived in East Lake for over 5 years and this is the best local sports bar in the area, and super kid friendly! Staff is always attentive and pleasant! Food is awesome. Couldn’t be a better place to go in the area! Never a bad experience!
Must Go. This is a fantastic restaurant and bar. My family and I have been going here for 13 years and never had a complaint. We go to varsity 3 to 4 times a week and sometimes even more than that. The staff is always friendly and we have become friends with many of them over the years. I don’t understand where some of these bad reviews are coming from because in 13 years I have never seen any of these things occur. The staff is always respectful and accommodating. As for disrespectful to teenagers, I was 8 when I started coming here and came in several times as a teenager with my friends and never had a problem with them being disrespectful to me or any of my friends simply because I was a teenager. A short story to show how accommodating and nice they are: I got extremely sick and had to change my diet completely to plain noodles and bland fish and basically as bland as you could get, one of the staff went into the kitchen when I told him what was going on and made me a dish with shrimp and noodles sauted with olive oil and did everything he could to actually make me enjoy my meal because I really didn’t want to resign myself to my plain chicken or fish that I had been eating for several weeks at that point. In short, you’re missing out if you haven’t been here or made a decision off of a single visit. Varsity is a family restaurant and sport bar but more importantly it is an important part of our community.
Abusive ownership. My son and several friends went into this restaurant. They ordered hot wings and the order was short several wings. They respectfully requested a small discount from Drew, the owner. Because they were teenagers, Drew treated them with total disrespect and made inappropriate comments. Also they took an hour to even bring the food to the table and it wasn’t even busy. The food there is ok, nothing to write home about, but the abuse towards respectful teenagers is way out of line. We live in Lansbrook and I am telling all my many friends to avoid that restaurant.
Awful!. Has to be one of the worst restaurants in East Lake. Awful food and even worst staff. They forget about you after being seated; happen two times to me and family, got up and left without ordering. Also the food is not worth waiting for. Never again!
Burgers were good and cooked to our order. I love the fact that they have tater tots. Staff was friendly and attentive.
My fav thing to order is veggie quesadilla!
Rude staff, terrible food & dirty. The staff is completely rude and non-attentive in this establishment…the woman in charge was no better, so I suppose the staff thinks customer service is not important. The table was smeared with grease, as was the seat like someone wiped the fryer THEN the table and seat, and the floor was gross. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised that the food was soggy and tasted like it sat out for a week.
