Asian Essentials. Though bit of a drive from our downtown apartment, Cho Lon Market provides every essential ingredient for the aspiring Asian gourmet cook AKA thrifty Scots shopper! Why pay exorbitant prices for tiny bottles of herbs, or for dried mushrooms, or dry roasted peanuts, just to name a few, when you can pay bargain basement prices for these same items at this imports store. The peanuts, for example, I buy raw here and roast myself. The place also sells Vietnamese finger foods, sandwiches, meats, produce, cooking utensils, tableware, clothing and contains a jeweler’s shop.
