Ma Pao Tofu. A great dish if you like tofu. It is sometiems spicy. They have it with chicken or if you are vegetarian they can make it with out. Get it every time I go!
So Far, So GOOD. We’ve eaten several times within the last 5 years. My husband loves the fried rice because it is light, and not drowning in soy sauce-not salty. Other items that we have enjoyed are Bird Nest and fish. We’ve taken my sister and husband who have returned for Vietnamese soups and asked us to return. Try Dim Sum- pork and Custard buns are excellent.
Very Good!. Have had both eat in and carry-out, and love everything so far. Ordered Singapore Rice Noodles (twice), Egg Roll, Szechuan Chicken, Sesame Chicken & Pork Dumplings. Plan on going through their entire menu.
I ordered fried rice from here for a party, it was salty and gross. So I wouldn’t suggest order food from here for a party.
We had a great meal. It was our second visit. Six of us went this eve, had a delicious, varied, meal. Had lots of help from the servers because one person was allergic to fish. We felt our bill was reasonable. So glad we didn’t see the other reviews first. We plan to go back and hope to be as happy next time.
Good food, HORRIBLE Service. Even though the food at Halong Bay is good, it does not make up for the HORRIBLE service, not to mention they are way over priced. At one point my husband and I were able to overlook the prices and go in for special occasions, but now we won’t even think twice about going. They seat you and forget about you, it takes about 20 minutes for them to even acknowledge you’re there and get your drink order. Then once we order our drinks & food, it takes another 20-30 mins for one person’s food to come out and then another 20 mins for the other person’s food to come out. Also, god forbid you need a drink refill, you wont see your waiter for another 30 minutes, when they are ready to get you the bill and get you out as quick as possible. Mekong is a couple doors down, they are not the nicest place around, but we would rather go there for cheap, good food and better service.
Rude Service, Again. Another bad service experience at Halong Bay Vietnamese/Chinese Restaurant last evening. The food has always been good, but entrees come out at wildly varying times and staff seems completely indifferent to any concept of good service or customer relations. So, after my dining companion waited 20 minutes or so for his entree after mine came out… during which time two parties who came significantly after me were served their complete meals… I have decided not to go again, and to share this experience with others.
