If you Love Sushi Don’t come here. By far the worst sushi experience – ever. The menu says crab, but all they have is Krab. The waiter had no clue what he was doing. The menu was very confusing, you had to flip all around to find what you wanted then find out how much it was. They tried to explain everything away, instead of making it right. Had to ask for the soup and salad after our main course was delivered. We won’t be back, it wasnt worth the money, even though we had a groupon.
Sushi very good. Loved it! Te sushi was unusual and very very good! The tuna guacamole, celebration and victory were awesome! Will go back!
Good, but not great sushi.. We purchased a groupon for this place, a voucher worth $25. The place itself was a hole-in-the-wall type restaurant. Service was okay – had to ask constantly for refills. Sushi was surprisingly good, and presentation was good. We got the 3 rolls for $15, two happy sumos (delicious!!) then the spicy tuna (Okay at best). Then purchased the Florida roll, which was passable. Okay but not great experience, but worth a visit if you don’t mind spending the money or pushing the wait staff for what you need.
Bought the Groupon as well, what a waste!! Place is not appealing at all visually inside or out. There was only one other table there. I stood there got probably 5 mins before anyone noticed me. When the waitress finally did she looked away and nervously got the man in charge. The menu was confusing and had several items scratched out. It took them another 30 mins or more to make me even one roll, made everything I ordered one at a time, very slow and out of items asking me constantly about replacing or changing my order to the things the wanted to sell or had. Horrible service!!!! Waitress asked me twice if I wanted a fork but never brought soy sauce. Was shocked that I could use chop sticks?? Wtf!!!
We bought the groupon….was probably the worst service I have ever had. Sushi was not bad. But wait staff was very unsure of their every move. We were the first ones in around 6 and never got our complete order even after an hour. We eventually left and requested we only be charged for the 3/4 rolls we ordered as we never received one of them. There was never any apology or any response to try and redeem themselves. Also while we and he rest of the customers were waiting for our food the sushi chef him self came out and started handing everyone the karaoke book and asking if anyone wanted to sing. NO first prepare our food! We will never go back.
Okay I tried it. So my wife and I ended up at sushi lover, with a restaurants.com certificate in hand. This place is located in the back of a strip center. The signage and window treatments leave little to be desired. Entering the establishment, directly ahead of you is a stage that is obviously set up for karaoke with two extremely large speakers on either side of the stage. There are about 10 tables in the entire restaurant. There was an individual making sushi behind a bar, but the bar itself did not lend it for seating. There is a very large mirror on the right-hand side, which of course is there to give you the optical illusion that the place is larger than it is. We were told to sit anywhere we would like. At the time of arrival there was only one other couple with their small baby in the entire restaurant. It was a Friday night at 7:30 PM. The servers seem to have a difficult time understanding English. There are three menus! We were told that we could use the coupon that we had on anything except the combinations. The menus were laminated and on the lamination were several black marks indicating they were out of certain items. One of the menus contained pictures. The pictures were presented rather well. Because we couldn’t decide we settled on getting a couple of salads and a couple of miso soups. While we were perusing the menu. The soups arrived first and were extremely cold. The soups seem to contain some blanched chicken, possibly spinach and may be a couple of carrots, some onion, and of course the broth. For whatever reason mine tasted odd, so I decided I wasn’t going to have it warmed up. We had to get the server’s attention in order to tell her about the soups. After a few minutes, the salads arrived. A small bowl, filled with good-looking greens, slivers of carrots and a few very small, cherry tomatoes. The dressing tasted a lot like what you could buy in a grocery store, nothing special. When my wife’s soups arrived, it was just two shades warmer than it was before. She did eat most of it though, claiming it was fairly decent. I think she was just starving. We finally settled on ordering a sunny roll and a volcano roll. Because we love eel so much, both rules contained unagi. Although the presentations of both looked very nice, there were very little eel pieces on any of the rolls. The other ingredients within the roles such as cucumber and cream cheese seemed to be fresh and fine. The rice rolls almost seemed to be prefab. On one of the rolls, it was supposed to be topped with crab and scallops and the crab was definitely fake, although it is not listed as such, and the scallops were so fishy. I opted out. Since we were there for the sushi and not the salad, I would have to say that this place was a huge disappointment. The only other shining good moment was the fact that the beers were cold, and both were served in a bottle. Unfortunately, this place charges, a normal rate for what would be high quality sushi and does not deliver. In the end I felt like getting our server to do anything for us was like pulling teeth. The atmosphere was horrible, and the food well I guess it was food…So to summarize, I probably won’t be giving this place another try, even though it is right around the corner from my house.
