Excellent food!
NOT Vegan Friendly. It seems that Fred’s is trying appeal to the vegetarian/vegan consumer by offering a different price point, etc. However, what is really offered to eat? A salad bar and some vegetable side dishes that may or may not contain chicken broth, beef broth, ham hocks, and butter. Apparently they think that either vegetarian=meatless (and who cares about some broth?) or that all vegetarians want is a bit of lettuce!
Down-home vitals. This is as good (or better) than my family meals in Tennessee on the farm. We travel from St Petersburg to Plant City at least once a month (or more if possible) and always bring friends with us. The food is incredible and the service excellent. I wish it was closer, but planning the trip with friends just makes it that much more enjoyable! The skillet cornbread is just perfect and one piece is not enough!! Luv’n it all!
Charming. Went if for the Breakfast Buffet.. $5.99 for 55+.. How can anyone not eat here? All the foods were fresh and hot. Service was great, they were always there for you. The only problem is I live too far away from the place.
A Great Buffet!. Finally, a southern style buffet that has great food! The BBQ items come from the BBQ place next door. It is also owned by the same family, or so I have been told. The wait staff has the typical southern hospitality down to a science. Always quick with iced tea refills and recomendations for what is exceptionally good today. Great atmosphere and great food makes this place a winner in my book.
Good Southern Cooking. Just returned from eating at Fred’s. Loved the southern cooking. I have been looking for this kind of place since I moved to Florida. Ribs, fried chicken, pot roast, mac n cheese, fried green tomatoes, greens, mashed potatoes – delicious!!!!
Had a great breakfast buffet at a very resonable price $6.50 .Good country cooking and great country prices … What more needs to be said ?
