I use to order food from this restaurant often. I feel like it went down hill. The pizza is cold by the time I get it to the table. When I place an order to pick up they always seem to forget something, so I end up driving back. The food quality is not what it use to be, which is upsetting because I use to order chicken parmigiano or francaise and the past few times has been horrible. The management at this establishment is awful. They are disrespectful to there staff.
Definitely worth stopping in! all of the staff was extremely friendly & attentive! the restaurant has a ton of character, so it’s also a fun experience! the food is amazing, and the pizzas are very unique! I strongly reccommend the chicken primavera! if you want great pizza and wonderful service, this is the place 🙂
Glad i tried this pizza resturant. Ive been driving by this place a long time and was reluctant to try it. ive had bad experinces with most south florida italian resturants. but this place made me sorry i didnt stop in a year and half ago. i enjoyed everything i ate. i ordered the eggplant hero with french fries 2 times in 1 week. $6.99 . the garlic rolls were the only problem they are soaking in hot oil . i dont see the reason for them to be soaked in grease. the service was ok. nothing fancy inside just a normal mom and pop place to eat.
Over priced for the cheap quality food they serve. Nothing special. After living in NY and knowing good Italian this place is awful. Theyre also extremely understaffed. 2 waittresses foe the whole restaurant we were waiting foe the bill and boxes a good 15 min. This place is a waste of time and money.
Very nice. Friendly fast clean and homely. Had the eggplant rollatine appetizer. Chicken diablo and the garlic rolls were divine.
After living in NYC for four years or so, I’m picky. Got the spaghetti with meat sauce… Great service, great food. I was impressed. Leather serving with three spoon and fresh sauce.. Will be back for a pie, which were flying out the door by the way
Was headed to the Sugar Chest Antique Mall down the street and pull into Big Louie’s totally at random. Service was rapid and cheerful. We chose to sit down rather than take out. We ordered the appatizer sampler, garlic rolls and a large Caprese Pizza between three people. The appatizer sampler was hot fresh and quick. This was a platter of calimari, fried cheese, fried Zuchini and a very tasty tomato sauce that is likely the same sauce they use on the pizza. The garlic rolls were ok but seemed hard and I have to wonder if they had been microwaved to freshen them up. The real star was the pizza. The New York style thin crust was homemade and well executed. Topped with real mozzerella cheese, fresh tomato chunks and fresh basil, the pizza was truly wonderful. The restaurant is dated inside and looks like something out of the 60s or 70s. As well, it looks the the place could benefit from a proper scrubbing as signs of long, hard use without much cleaning was in evidence. Notice the spring in the booth seat that goosed the seated. Notice the greasy surfaces and grease encrusted mens room door. Regardless, the pizza was amazing and worth the stop. I give Big Louie’S a conditional recommendation. They need to clean the joint up but the pizza was memorable and worth the trip. Try their pizza and you’ll agree.
