Great Food, Terrible Service. I was very disappointed with the service, but the food was good. We arrived at lunch time on a Thursday and the place was packed. There was a small table near the line, in a corner that was empty. We asked if we could sit there and they said yes. Then, a girl comes up saying that’s the owner’s table and he gets real mad if anyone sits there. We say okay and give them our name, but we don’t get up. The owner comes over and asks if we are being helped. He looks upset that we are still sitting there, but the line is now almost to the door. We say yes and about 5-7 minutes later he (the owner) walks behind me and knocks into my chair HARD. I’m all of 120 pounds, so I wasn’t in the way. Finally, we were seated and the food was good, but the whole idea of making your customers wait while there’s an open table is ridiculous. He wasn’t using it or eating! Finally, they only have wine, no other liquor. So, if you don’t mind waiting while staring at an empty table, you’re good!!

Go For the Garlic. Gianni’sPompano BeachWell spaced room, brass pans and oil paintings give it that Old World feel. Mixed crowd of families/middle age/seniors. If your looking for a hip dining spot, this is not it but the food is solid. They bring a basket of really good giant size garlic knots, loaded with garlic, these are not to be missed. Beer and wine only here but they give you a nice pour on glass of wine. Crisp hearts of romain salad with gorgonzola comes with meal and it was fresh and delicious. Lasagna was very good, good sauce. Penne vodka with peas was cooked aldente and was a large portion. All the dishes were a good size portion. Overall you get alot of good food for the money. Our server was fast and friendly. Note: the back of the restaurant is actually where your supposed to walk in, if you park on the side it may be confusing.

Delicious… Staff, food, specials, salad, definetly the bread. Don’t leave without going.

A local’s hangout. This place is MOBBED at lunchtime. Old-school, attentive service is nice; I think they staff a higher waiter : patron ratio than most places nowadays, and the waiters I’ve had were always top drawer. Portions are huge, including their salads: I always take part of my order home. Not the fanciest restaurant ever…but that’s not always what you want. What they are is reliably good, and that says a lot.

Giannis. Went there on a monday at 530. restaurant half filled, but i can see if its filled it can be quite loud. started with garlic rolls, decent but i find IL MULINO a touch better, but still good. had the calamari appetizer, huge portion, enough for at least 2 people…and good !. at the table the four dishes we had and all excellent..penne ala vodka, broccoli rabe w/sausage, grouper, and chicken parm. again ALL HUGE and excellent (had leftovers next day). overall an excellent choice. will be back

Authentic Italian. This place was simply amazing…My wife grew up going there every year on vacations to Florida. This was my first time there and I was really excited by everything she told me about the place. From start to finish, everything was delicious. I had the chicken, veal and eggplant parm trio and my wife had the pasta con frutti de mare (fruit of the sea) it’s a combination of shrimp, mussels, scallops, and calamari in a spicy tomato broth; both were outstanding. I can’t wait to go back to this place in September!! Give this place a try.

Wonderful Dining Experience. Gianni’s was a great find. As Italian is my favorite cusine I have experienced great resturants before. Gianni’s, in my book, ranks in the top 5. We had the Veal Marsala and Chicken Parmesan. They were light with great sauces. The side of spaghetti, many times just so so was great. Our salads were perfect. And then to end the evening we had the Ricotta cheese cake and Tiramisu. The resturant was full of local people who all seemed to be enjoying themselves. I would certainly put this on my list of places to return everytime I am in the Fort Lauderdale area.
