The only down side is thr location. BUT… We had an amazing time at La Forketta. You forget the location as soon as you are seated. Pastas were perfectly al dente, seafood cooked beautifuly (the octopus was tender, not rubbery) and the wine list has really honest prices. Tiramisu and the espresso/cappuccino were a nice finish to a great meal. Staff was friendly and the owner made sure to greet everyone, an added value in my opinion. We will definitely be back whenever we stay in Pompano, and will recommend to friends and family to do the same
They are a new family run small neighborhood but authentic Italian restaurant. Service can be a bit erratic but we love Lara’s warm hospitality and her husband’s food that we are more than willing to overlook some of the young servers cluelessness. Try to have Daniel wait on you — he’s the best.We’ve been there numerous times — for lunch as well as dinner. If they have their olive bread request it. Blackboard special’s are usually very good. Pappardelle is homemade so any sauce on this wide flat pasta is delish. I usually get their pork with mushrooms or one of the pasta special’s (linguine with clans & mussels last time). Tried a new dish tonight — chicken Milanese topped with salad. A refreshing change for a hot night. Prices are beyond reasonable. My husband told me he could eat here every night!
I’ve enjoyed restaurant on my first visit. Food is fresh, delicious and reasonably priced. The menu is limited and the chef may want to consider expanding menu or adding specials that significantly vary from what’s already on standard menu.
Very Bad Service never back again!. We have been to La Forketta already a few times in the past days and we have been always disappointed by the rudness of the waitress (the owner of the restaurant). We have been waiting more than 30 minutes just to get the menus and we have been eating the entire dinner with no water. So stressful! Absolutely not recommend it.
Whether you’re having pizza or pasta, the food is amazing ! Truly taste like Italy . Definitely a must try
I love la Forketta’s sauces, they are the best in Broward County!. I am of Italian descent. My friends and I cook Italian, and pretty well, we’ve been told. I think Max’s sauces are on par with the best I’ve ever eaten, and some better than that. All that for between $10 and $15! Outstanding value. I know how much it costs to make a sauce like his. We have eaten here more than five times. The food is outstanding. The value is outstanding, and your hosts, Max and Lara are a delightful couple.Their salads are really good and if you’re hungry for lunch try their focaccia sandwiches. They have specials until they run out, so get there early if you can. You can also count on a damned good pizza!try La Forketta for yourself. You’ll be glad you did.
