Oh Yeah Baby!. This place is the real deal; authentic Mexican food, the best I have ever had. But,if you are not a true food adventurer this may not be the place for you. Why you ask? Because this is a really local, hole-in-the-wall mexican grocery serving some of the best Mexican you have ever eaten, but catering to mostly Mexican working people and in a bad neighborhood its not for the easily detered foodie. Off of Atlantic in a commercial area, bars on the windows, Mexican man with a guitar on a stool by the front door, greets you as you walk in. Inside the patrons are almost exclusively blue-collar Hispanic folks. The owners speak English and are very welcoming and polite, but I won’t deny I felt a little out of place. There are very few seats and it was crowded so no place to sit, so we ordered to go, but the food was out of this world. Best Mexican Food Ever! We had the tacos de lengua and al pastor, chicken enchilada and quesedilla. I can’t overstate how good it was. If you like very authentic ethnic food, and don’t mind being in the minority (unless of course you are an Hispanic working man) try it. You won’t be disapointed.
