Started out pleasant enough, seated on patio immediately. Waited. And waited. And waited. More than 20 minutes, no service, no drinks, no greeting. A server came out to the patio at least three times during that time period. We decided to leave to go somewhere else, so we stopped by the hostess stand to let them know. They wanted to let me talk to the manager, but I ended up standing there waiting ANOTHER 5 minutes for the manager that never came out, so we left. We will not go back.

PETS. I didn’t care for the dog being held by a customer next to me at the bar last evening while I was eating my dinner.Do we allow all animals to be brought into the business. Was not NOT a service dog, a littledog, very playful. No place for any animal where food is served unless it is a service dog, which are usually well behaved and under the table.

Disappointment. The famous expression and stereotype of southern hospitality certainly doesn’t fit this establishment. Perhaps the diners haven’t been to any truly nice restaurants. Having moved from up north and having been in the servic eindustry my entire life I have to say these servers are subpar. While the filet and lobster were pretty tasty, it was the server that left a bad taste in my mouth. Not one check back, not at all, thru our entire dinner. The server had 1 other table so maybe multitasking wasn’t his forte lol. My dinner was pushed to the she of the table immediately as he proceeded to shuffle past us at least a dozen Times and never once stopped to ask how we were. It wasn’t until I stopped in and said we’ve been waiting for our check for a while did he actually speak to me. I payed the full bill, never asking for any discounts or freebies but realizing they’ve lost us for life. It was a slow Monday night and now I know why their parking lot was empty. The Caesar dressing and Mac and cheese must’ve been regurgitated from another guest and were I edible at best. The simplest things they failed on.

Not a good restaurant for steak. I ordered the 10 ounce Ribeye and was disappointed. I requested it be cooked medium and it was, but it seemed to be served closer to room temperature rather than hot off the grill (the herb butter sitting on top had trouble melting). The cocktails were very tasty and the Caprese salad was delicious. So I guess my recommendation is to only order drinks and salad at the Malibu Beach Grill.

Manager steps up to the plate. I have dined at this establishment on a number of previous occasions and found everything up to par. My latest visit was disappointing. I’m not sure if this was due to the fact that this time my order was TO GO. I ordered a caprese salad and chicken with artichokes in Alfredo sauce. While waiting for the order I placed an additional order for the goat cheese appetizer to consume at the bar. The appetizer was good as it has been on my previous visits. The other two items, however, were not. The caprese salad had four small pieces of cheese and the few tomato slices were mushy. Thankfully the dressing was tasty. The chicken artichoke pasta was awful. No flavor at all and the Alfredo sauce was the consistency of water, what there was of it.If I lived right by the restaurant I would have taken the food back. Since I don’t, I called. I asked to speak to the manager and after a short wait, a gentleman named Steve came on the line. In my opinion he handled my complaint VERY well. He was very apologetic and offered to send me a gift card in the mail to appease me. I had not expected the offer, I really just wanted to pass on my concern about quality to the chef.Because of the way the situation was handled and because prior meals were fine I will give the restaurant another try.
