BAD SERVICE. Will NEVER RETURN AGAIN……..Service was so bad my husband and I experience was just down right unfair. We were hounded over and over again to leave and this was the first time of an event we could see our children. I was thinking at first well the waitress just needs money, but then when we proceeded to order more stuff and leave her a big tip then maybe she would be understanding or grateful. It didn’t matter to this establishment or they didn’t think we were the big tippers..This was so upsetting to my family and to all of us sitting at the table and witnessing how all of us were being treated. It took 25 minutes to receive any refills with our meals. We were told that they teach us to turn tables quick in and out and we have been here long enough. Well my husband couldn’t take it anymore and we decided to cut the family reunion short. The Manager/owner was so convertational and it was just all around bad service. The customer comes first and how he handle the approach of things was just not professional. I have to think of many times working and taking up for my staff, but when you feel unwanted and trying to spend money just makes you feel down right mad. It is so sad I was looking forward to spending time with my daughter and my three sons and all this establishment cares about is turning tables. I hope and pray no one ever comes to this establishment and witnesses what my family did at this place and honestly ,the Better Business Bureau has had lots of complaints as well. So don’t just take my word for it.

Awesome!. Wait staff was attentive, we were seated immediately although the restaurant was pretty full during a college football game, and the food was delicious! Also had a decent selection of beers including local brews. We went on Saturday night and they had an awesome deal for only $15 consisting of a whole lobster and two sides. The lobster was great (of course) but the best part of my meal was the Irish potato cake- it was AMAZING! The prime rib was cooked perfectly, the burgers were also delicious and very fairly priced. If we are in the area again I would definitely go back and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Finally! Good fresh seafood is in the area.. We finally tried this place out, and the only thing that I can say is that we should not have waited so long. Its ironic that being right on the coast, this entire area has a miserable selection of seafood places. That is, until you come here. Situated in a shopping center at the northeast corner of Nova and Dunlawton, McKennas occupies the space formally occupied by the abomination known as beef obradys, plus another whole storefront. They gutted everything and its all new, and very well designed. It is a family owned and run place, and you get that feel immediately. They have another location in New Smyrna as well. I was told that there is always a McKenna there, and when we went both Chris and Michelle were there, checking tables and making everyone feel welcome. You get the same feel from the service staff as well. I hate going to a new place I want to try everything on the menu, and made an attempt to restrain myself this time but it was difficult. The menu is good sized, but not unmanageable, with a good selection of both seafood , raw bar, as well as burgers, wraps, chicken wings, pasta, chicken dishes, sandwiches, salads and a pretty extensive kids menu.We started out with the smoked fish dip, which came with jalapenos on the side & plenty of crackers. It was excellent (a word that comes up often here) a slight hint of smoke and overall very well balanced.Next up was the New England Clam Chowder Im from Boston, and this is right up there with the best that Ive had – not too thick, plenty of clams very well done. French Onion soup was excellent not at all salty as some are. A great mix of rich beef stock, onions, and cheese.I had the fresh (yes-fresh!) tuna steak special. Exactly seared the way that it should have been. Fish and chips were some of the best that I have seen in years lightly breaded crispy crusted white fish not a heavy soggy beer batter type. The menu has daily Blue Plate Specials including Corned Beef and Cabbage, Meatloaf, Shepherds pie, Pot roast plus daily specials. They had a Maine lobster and King crab legs going on the night that we were there. There is also a nicely priced lunch menu as wellOne thing that cant be missed is the fact that there is an excellent selection of craft beer as well 20 or so taps that feature some nice beers, and after talking with Michelle (who is a beer aficionado), I was told that they are rotating taps to keep the variety on some changing. The taps are set up right as well right through the cooler wall, short draft lines, less chance for them to get dirty and easier to clean. All in all, this place is a gem in an area where you should be able to get good, fresh seafood anywhere. Unfortunately, this is not the case. McKennas is the only place in the area that I would recommend to anyone looking for good food at a fair price that actually appreciates your business a real breath of fresh air in an area dominate by old, has been tourist type seafood places. I highly recommend it.

Great food & great service. Try the Thai shrimp wrap – it’s delicious.

Best Sports Bar. We were looking for a place to eat and ran across a newly opened restaurant in Port Orange on the computer. When we approached the door a very nice man opened it for us (later we found out it was the owner). As soon as we were seated Susan our waitress came and got our drink order, when she came back with the drinks she took our order for the a dozen clams and explained the specials. The owner came over and talked with us, when he was done the waitress came back and took our order for our lunch. I had a Crispy Crab Cake with cheese in it, served with a really good sauce, with a side of Cole Slaw, I also ordered the Broccoli Cheese Soup (was the best I have had). My husband had a Buffalo Chicken sandwich with Hot Wing Sauce (he could pick his sauce), with French Fries. After the waitress took our order the owner came back with our Clams. As we ate we noticed that the owner walked around to the tables and talked to everyone like he enjoys what he is doing. He was very relaxed and personable, he also made sure to open the door and thank each customer as they left. The menu has something for everyone including children and has great portions with good prices. If you enjoy watching the game while you eat, this is the place, you can see multiple televisions from each table and the bar. I would recommend it to everyone that reads this and I also talk to. We drove 30 minutes to get there and will be doing it often. The picture was my appetizer after I ate a few.

Best Sports Bar in Port Orange. What a great place to eat. As we approached the door it was opened by the owner Chris McKenna who greeted us warmly. Our server Susan was quick to arrive at our table and take our drink order. We looked over the menu and finally settled on an appetizer of steamed clams which were cooked perfectly. For our meal I had a Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with fries and my wife had an extra crispy Crab Cake Sandwich with a McKenna special recipe sauce. The food was huge portions and well worth the money. Every table had great views of numerous televisions to watch the games on. It was also nice to see the owner Chris going around the tables talking with all his customers and then opening the door for them as they were leaving and thanking them for their business. We were very happy and will return soon and will tell all of our friends about McKennas.
