Each time I have gone here (about 5 times) I have ordered their filet mignon. DELICIOUS, especially with the lobster sauce! Black bean soup also tasty. I have never had an issue with the service either. We enjoy going here for special occasions.
Punta Gorda is a small city with a disproportionate number of very good restaurants, Jack’s is NOT one of them. Bland, overpriced food prepared by unskilled high school dropouts whose idea of fine dining on par with old country buffet. Ten yes only ten medium to small PEI mussels in a bland sauce for $13.95. Rubbery chicken, unsalted, unseasoned food. There is no accounting for taste and Jack’s food has no taste. There are seven restaurants within a block of Jack’ that are far superior in both taste and quality. Try them before you go to Jacks. In fact you should never go to Jacks except to watch the local Christmas parade.
Mediocre food and even worse service! If I could give Jack’s 0 out of 5 stars I would. Our waitress was awful and had the worst attitude I’ve ever seen. Our table was ignored for most of the night and forget about asking for a refill! I like to support local restaurants in town but I will never be going back to Jack’s!
The cuisine is top notch; the service average. We had the shrimp and grits (excellent) and the blackened yellow snapper (also very nicely done)
Fantastic Dinner. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Jack’s last evening. It was a fantastic dinner, but the service made it outstanding. Our server, Andrea, provided us with the type of service that everyone wants, but few have the opportunity to receive. She was friendly, attentive without hovering, and overall added tremendously to our dining experience. This was our first visit to Jack’s, but it will definitely not be our last. Also, we will try to be seated in Andrea’s section. Although, as excellent as she is, there may not be an available table.
Lovely traditional Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Husband loved cheese and bacon burger and his fries were HOT and delicious. Lots of other places were closed on Sunday and we found this by direction of locals walking down street. Sort of worn and dark decor but live music and huge bar. Sort of noisy and average age about 50+
