For German food, try Sandra’s. I had read about Sandr’s German restaurant and we were in the vicinity enjoying the sights of downtown Punta Gorda with free parking and it was fast approaching lunchtime. We tried Sandra’s because it offered German food, and that particular day for lunch, they had schnitzel (a favorite of mine) with all the trimmings. While it was a buffet presentation, the food was freshly cooked and replaced as the guests sampled the pork schnitzel, potatoes, red cabbage, gravy with mushroom, spatzle, and goulash along with the homemade rye bread and butter that you woud expect. There was homemade soup too and frankly, I had two bowls. We were impressed. It was all good, way better than anyone should expect from a lunchtime buffet. Authentic German food at a great price, and the place even has a Stammtisch (for the owner and regulars). The beer offerings too are tasty, right from the tap. I had a Hofbru Dunkel bier – it came recommended by a gentlemen seated nearby.Needless to say, next time I am downtown, I will make Sandra’s a necessary place

I love the food here. The staff is nice, portions are generous. The specials and the buffets are very good.
My sister and I walk by this place all the time one day we decided to try it and we absolutely love it! Everything we’ve had has been amazing even my picky boyfriend said he would go back. I will continue to eat here because the food really worth every penny.
Looser. Great service but sub par food. Red Cabbage, Saurkraut, Potato Salad all bland with no hint of seasonings. Pork Roast average. They are proud of their bread but don’t serve it with meals. Must buy as special order. Won’t go back.
Mixed reviews. Most food was good. Good value. Sauerbraten tough and not tasty enough, but large expensive portion. Strongly recommend buffets.
Not great. The portions were very small and or no flavor.My wife and i tried to return our meals they were so bad,but the owner and chef insisted that they were perfect.Well.. the chicken tasted like burger king ,cold bread,warm beer.We just walked out.Will Not Go Back
