Open for lunch? I don’t think so! Arrived at 12:05pm and turned away. They close at noon. Saw enough of the arrangement inside to know we will not be back. Long tables everyone sits together. Not conducive to a nice private conversation.
Nothing fancy, just honest good food! I asked for notable suggestions and was pointed to sausage & biscuits. It did not disappoint.
Horrible customer service.. When I go out to eat I don’t expect to be yelled at, and talked about by the waiters. I just want to respectfully eat my meal. The good is mediocre and I doubt I’ll be back anytime soon.
Worse Biscuits. Had the worse biscuits I have ever eaten. The home fried potatoes were not anything special either. Will not eat there again.
Seriously!?. I do not understand the hype around this place. The signature sausage gravy is completely tasteless, and their potatoes are frozen reconstructed potatoes, simply deep fried. And the atmosphere is only unique for this area, but certainly not special. Who wants to wait in line for this? ICK!!!
THE WORST – Tried this place because of rave reviews – they must be all friends and family of the owners. The ‘fries’ are little pre-made frozen potato rounds, generic at best drowned in a tasteless thick white goo with pieces of crumbled sausage in it. The sausage…had a patty which is a big thick sausage burger on a plate – very course ground with lots of gristle and bone in it. First 2 bites had bone so be warned. Egg was scrambled and flat. Toast was very dark – pre-packaged jelly – grape, strawberry and mixed-fruit, also generic. Coffee was truck-stop okay. Can’t believe people think this food is great! Oh…and family style picnic benches for seating. Was told the bathrooms are outside. Never again!
Memories…. We used to skip school in the morning to go to The Smoke House and get biscuits and gravy with some of the best sweet tea in the world. Those were good times and some good eats.
