Went here with family and found there are lots of gluten-free options. Almost every thing is made from scratch so they are aware of all the ingredients. Lots of gluten-free options available. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant is a decent size for groups. The high ceilings make the place seem larger and keep the sound down. The ribs were great but the rest was so-so. It does get a higher rating by me because of the items stated above.
Ordered the lunch special , pulled pork with Carolina Vinegar Sauce . They give you the pulled pork enough to compliment the bun and then some, the bun though like some others stated wasn’t complimentary with value of the pork . Sided with Onion Rings , pretty large and notably handmade alot of batter and flavor, underfried the middle was a bit soft. Looking forward to my next lunch break , maybe the turkey next ? Enjoyed it for the price .
Dont eat. Over priced, have a 9 year old taking your orders at the cash register. To me thats wrong, just dont go there . Im from St.Louis, MO and know bbq thats not bbq. Wrost food every and waste of money 60$ for 3 people.
Wasn’t bad, wasn’t great. Got a burnt ends dinner with sweet potato fries and fried okra. Meat was fatty, but tasted good. The okra and sweet potato fries were run of the mill. Cost= 11.95. Also got the Slawed Pig sandwich which is pulled pork, coleslaw on garlic toast. Cost= 9.95. It was a generous portion, a little on the dry side and definitely needed sauce. The pulled pork was average. The coleslaw was sweet and not overly creamy. No sides were included with the sandwich. We would be willing to give it another shot and try some different menu items.
Could use some Help with plenty of things.. Wow, never though I would say that I did not enjoy BBQ because I love most all things BBQ but Double D’s missed the mark on so many levels. I just hope they work it because I like to see local businesses succeed.First They have specialty sandwiches that they offer. Mine was a one pound pulled pork sandwich with pickles for $12.95 comes with no sides so I ordered the Mac & Cheese for a few bucks more.The sandwich was not even a 1/2 pound let alone a full pound, extremely dry like it was days old and get this, you get a small ramekin of BBQ sauce and just one. Gotta pay for another to drown out the dry pork. Not good.The mac and cheese had zero point zero taste so I asked to have something else, so I took some fries.Cook comes out and asks me what’s wrong with the mac and cheese?I told him and he said that was the style. I said ok. If no taste is your style then I guess It’s not my style.No napkins on the tables, no BBQ sauce, salt, pepper, ketchup or anything. I felt like I was in Taco Bell.I think this was the 1st time I did not like BBQ.
Good food, but strange execution. I’ve never been to BBQ place that doesn’t have BBQ sauce on the table. They charge you extra for it.
