Pretty GoodAcqua Alta is a pleasant little place. The food is reasonably priced. It is all pretty good, but nothing is particularly memorable. Service is a little slow. There are some nice extra touches. They have a nice little happy hour with a good house wine on half price. They serve a complimentary amuse bouche of a bean soup of some kind and also some nice bread. We shared a pleasant small plate of shrimp on polenta and then a nice side saladalthough the house dressing is mostly oil and doesnt have much flavor. We had to ask for some vinegar and salt to get some flavor going. And while Im at it, whats the deal with salt grinders everywhere in the last couple of years? The grind is never small enough and you end up with chunks of salt that throw off one bite from the next. For mains we had a Pappardelle alla Bolognese. It was pleasant enough but there wasnt enough of the Bolognese. We asked for some tomato sauce to have something on the pappardelle. We also had the Pollo alla Cacciatora which was our favorite. For an included side we had the Peperonata which was very good.Acqua Alta is nice, but there wasnt anything that I was excited about and nothing that I would crave to return for.

What a disappointment, wed heard such good things. Best new restaurant, best chef, best signature dish, the Chicken Mushroom Lasagna with a Bchamel . Our waiter was a step behind, the waitress that helped him out was better. A table next to us went uncleaned while we were there, over an hour almost an hour and a half. The food, mediocre at best, the bread and olive oil did not have any spices, the Bruschetta did not have any basil. But the main course, the Signature Dish, was bland at best and felt like it had been sitting for a while. No sign of the Bchamel, soaked in, not there, not sure. The Pasta Bolognese was under done, not near al dente, not even molto al dente, just under cooked. The bolognese was uninspired, again, bland. The waiter missed the point that more than half of each meal was left and we did not want to go boxes. The waitress did pick up on that, but nothing done, offering that we could leave a review. So here it is. Return, maybe it was an off night.
