Downhill Turn. Two out of three my past three meals at Rodies were disasters. One month ago we ordered corned beef sandwiches, they were delivered and the corned beef was bearly visable. Wow what a disappointment, I felt like they took one full order of corned beef for one sandwich and divided into two portions and made two small sandwiches.The corned beef was put on the grill and grilled until oit was dried corned beef. The last straw came with a dinner meal served with ice cold mashed potatoes , yes the mashed potatoes were right out of the refridgerator with hot grave dumped on them. The waitress was called and advised of the cold potatoes. Our meal was almost completed when the mashed potatoes were brought out to us. The potatoes were watery, watered down cooked boiling hot and the gravy was the same. The steam came off the the new bowl of mashed potatoes, they were way too hot to consume, we tried to eat the potatoes but gave up. This shouldn’t have happened. Whoever heard of a resturant that operates as they do. NO ONE WATCHING the kitchen, our server never came back to us, she stared out the kitchen and had another server give us the bill and clean the table. I have noticed that the lunch time crowd is not a crowd, the resturant is empty running at about 35 % of its table capacity. They know they served bad food when they don’t ask if you enjoyed your meal or not, this goes for the cashier too. I guess Rodies will be a resturant of the past for myself and others. The cooks know what they did and what they served and this shouldn’t have happened. I believe all the other complainers on this blog about Rodies.
Good food – horrible management. I was going here for breakfast or lunch a couple times a week. The food is good, the waitresses are friendly – but today was my last day going. I requested an omelet and instead of the sides, I wanted to substitute an additional egg. Now I checked the prices on the menu and saw that additional eggs were a dollar, where the grits and toast added up to way over a dollar… so they would actually have saved money by doing the substitution. Instead, I got charged for the omelet, the sides, AND the extra egg, even though I didnt get the sides. Wont be going back. Pickles Plus is across the street and has good food.
Mixed feelings about this place. The wait staff was super friendly and helpful. The kitchen staff kept staring at my girlfriend which made her uncomfortable. They stopped after I turned around and made eye contact with them. Now for the food. The sausage gravy was excellent. The crpes weren’t cooked enough so they weren’t eatable. The food did come out ridiculously fast but that’s not a bad thing especially when you’re hungry. Not sure if we will return or not.
Bring Back The Breakfast Special. Please bring back the specials. I won’t be able to continue to eat there as a regular customer when breakfast with coffee is over $9.00. End of Specials….very disappointing. Let me first say that I am a Rodies fan, it so convenient to my home and work, however, I am very disappointed that the specials that they have been running almost since opening have been removed. That is unfortunate considering the choices that exists for breakfast. The quality is excellent so if price is not an issue for you, by all means enjoy.I come here 4 days a week, or did I must sadly add. I simply cannot justify $10 for breakfast when there are so many other restaurants in the area with ongoing specials for us bargain breakfasters. Might try Farmer Boy on Drew or McCabes on Gulf to bay. Rodies, bring back the specials and you will have me everyday. Not many customers as regular as I am.
Great food!. We go to Rodie’s on a regular basis for breakfast. Food is always good and service is fast! We go almost every week!
Slow. It took an hour to get a simple two scrambled eggs with bacon and toast!! I will never go back!
