Want to eat after that.Beer on tap expensive. Safety Harbor not a place to really want to go. Only went because of great Ad.What is nice is their website, fooled once.
Frozen, not the movie. This used to be one of our favorite local places to take friends but after last nights meal, never again,After sitting a at slanted table getting bit by some kind of bugs,my husband was served a Grouper dinner. The size of the Grouper was like a chicken nugget.The waitress agreed & took the plate back. She came back with the same plate saying the cook told her thats the way its served. My husband sent the dish back & ordered a burger as I had.I on the other hand was served frozen onion rings with my burger. FROZEN IN THE MIDDLE When I gave the onion ring to the waitress to give to the cook she came back & said the manager was already yelling at the cook.I paid my bill when it came, gave the waitress her 20% & we left. We were not offered a credit for a terrible meal. I didn’t ask for one, it should be offered. I will tell all my friends & advised everyone I know. I emailed the restaurant after our terrible experience hopeful they would at least apologize, but nothing. Lots of great choices in Safety Harbor, this is not one of them. Worth a Stop. I have been to Whistle Stop twice and frankly I am disappointed to see the reviews below. I met some friends from Chicago and we instantly loved the small town Safety Harbor is and Whistle Stop offered that neighborhood bar and eats feel we wanted. We ordered the buffalo shrimp and they are the best I have ever had to date. For one, the shrimp are not tiny like they are at other restaurants; more than a pop in the mouth. They are smothered in a buffalo sauce that is bright orange and not too vinegary or sugary or hot. It has a quick but not one that becomes enjoyable after about four. You get ten I believe and they hit the mark. As for the entrees, they can be a little inconsistent. The first time I ordered a jalapeno burger that had too much bun for the amount of meat but came back a second time with my brother who had a bacon cheese and loved it. I had the tilapia sandwich and was blown away. Usually the rice and beans are delicious but the second time around I was basically served beans in a few grains of rice but they were also jam packed. There is a reason it is a popular place so form your own opinion and check it out.
Very Disappointed Lately. We live near the Whistle Stop and have been coming here for over 2 yrs now… It’s very conducive and the happy hour prices are very reasonable. (hopefully that wont change like some things have)Bar service is on and off…. Sometimes great, sometimes not… Depends on the bartenders mood. They recently got new management and this place has gone down hill since then! No soap in the bathrooms, no paper towels, when it rains it rains in on the bar all over the customers now. Totally NOT the same as when we started coming in. I would have said a year ago this place is the place you would want to be… Not so much anymore!!! Think before you come here, unless you want crappy service, no soap or paper towels after you go to the bathroom, or if it’s rains… You like to get wet!!! Oh and lets not forget – hardly ANY parking for customers. Sad but true this place has gone down hill and seems to just be going down faster!!
One of my all time favorite restaurants!. Whistle Stop has some of the best food in Safety Harbor. From the grilled cheese, to the onion rings, to the ice cream, everything is perfection. The atmosphere is nice here except for when it’s hot and humid outside.

The angus steak burger with fresh portabella mushrooms (ask for them) was great. Atmosphere was fun and friendly. Lots of wraps and veggie dishes.
