Taqueria Tepeyac, Saint CloudDecided to visit this Taqueria on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 because it came highly recommended from several patrons. The address on the business card was incorrect so we drove around 13th Street for over 30 minutes when we decided to call the place. To our surprise, it on Vermont and Jersey. For a Saturday, the place was empty. When we arrived we waited a bit until someone showed up to take our order. You place the order at the counter, pay and sit at a table. They have a daily special menu, a regular menu, beer, wine and sodas. The place needs some sprucing. The tables are scattered around anywhere. It feels likes it’s still under renovations. We ordered chips and salsa (not free), combo 1 which offered 3 small tostadas, rice and beans; and combo 3 witch was spicy with one chili relleno, one taco and one tostada. The chips were old; and the salsa was so liquified that you needed a straw rather than old chips. The food presentation was ok, typical Tex-Mex look, I found the food to be generic and nothing special. The food was hot, the plate was hot. Overall, it had a good taste. The best part was the desert – cheesecake chimichanga!!! Awesome and worth it. Our bill came out to $30 for the two. The owner was really nice and friendly. He was the one cleaning tables, taking orders, taking food to the tables. I did notice a lot of people do take outs rather than sit down at the restaurant.Would I go back?? I don’t think so. I’ve had better.
Eh, so-so. Ate there in January. Food was okish neither good nor bad, sort of a fast food style but not fast food. You order at a counter and then they bring it out to you. Chips are extra. By the time you’re done you could have went to a nice Mexican place. Last place in town open? I’d go back then, until then there are much better options in town.
Good Taqueria. My girlfriend and I have eaten here numerous times for lunch. The huaraches are delicious. I haven’t had a meal I didn’t like and my girlfriend agrees. Great food for a great price with quick service.
Great food at a great price!. Friendly staff, great food and great prices; what more do you need! My wife and I stopped in to try it out and were pleasantly surprised! She had the marinated pork burrito and I had 4 marinated pork tacos with a side of refried beans and a Negro Modelo. Everything was great and the total was around $18!
