The Real Daruma Experience. Walked in tonight. Saturday at 6:45. Party of 4. No Rez. Seated instantly at grill table. Best waiter I have seen in years walks up and greets us. Name is Reza. Order drinks. They arrive promptly. Order sushi. Comes out in 12 minutes. Reza is all over the two grill tables he has. We wait for nothing. Order entrees. Chef comes out promptly. Food is great. Steak, shrimp, scallops, chicken are all great. Special requests are accommodated. The moral here is that I almost missed this blissful experience because of poor reviews. So, to summarize: amazing waiter, fast service on drinks, sushi, and entrees, great quality cuisine. What’s missing? Nothing! Don’t believe everything you read. Try it for yourself. Just be sure you ask for Reza.

Worst service ever!. I went to Daruma’s with a group of gals and the food was pretty good but the service was horrible! The waitress was not friendly or even kind to say the least. She yelled at us when asking us for our orders, then basically threw our salad bowls at us. She never offered us any drink refills or asked if we wanted to order another drink. She brought us boxes while we all had more than half our meal left on our plate and were clearly still eating. She wrote in her tip after running all of our credit cards through, a few of us crossed out her 20% tip and wrote our own tip in. My credit slip was under my to go box, as I was boxing up my left overs, she came over and pulled it out from under me almost spilling my food in my lap, and I’m the one saying ‘excuse me’ to her! Even though I still left her 15%, she still came to our table to complain about it and tell us we needed to leave her what she wrote in. When I explained to her the reason she was getting less, the service was awful and why, she smirked and stormed off. Worst waitress ever! We will never go back to Daruma’s…shame because the food was pretty good. But there are too many good Japanese restaurants in town where you don’t get treated like crap while you’re there!
Very good food, very bad service. The food is consistently good and the experience is better if you eat on the hibachi side of the place. The show was ok, but they seem to be weeding through some hacks and the last two times we went it was bad. The table service side was just the worse experience we ever had out and is consistently poor. The last time we went, our waiter just threw my wife’s dish on the table as he waked by, never introduced himself or asked if we need anything. The hostess is the one who actually had to take our order, get us drinks, etc.. The last straw was begging for our check, having to get our own to go boxes. It will be a long time till we every go back.
I’ve eaten the hibachi here before and loved it. Last night all we wanted was sushi and an appetizer. The waiter took a long time to get a drink order. Then we placed our entire order at that point. The drinks took a while to make it. Then he said sushi would be out shortly. We waited a fairly long time for the sushi. He brought that without the tempura appetizer and failed to mention this at all. Sushi took around 30 minutes. He finally brought out the appetizer last about 50+ minutes after we ordered and said it had been sitting in the back. At this point I really didn’t want it, but ok. Ordered another drink. This took another 20 mins to get. This was the poorest service I have had in years. Maybe the worst ever. I have been in the restaurant biz for many years and this was totally unacceptable. I highly suggest going elsewhere if you plan on enjoying your meal.
Always Great. We have been eating here for years , it is always great food and services .When the kids were younger it was very entertaining now they love going with friends!!!It’s nice to call ahead and take home for those run late nights.
It just isn’t the same anymore. Quality wise was pretty below average. I suggest you go to Wasabi at the town center. The only reason why I like this place was cause they served noodles, but we can forget about that when my noodles weren’t even cooked and sauted all the way. Save your time, go to Wasabi. Way better food.
