TLDR: DO NOT EAT HEREFirst warning sign was that this place was nearly empty during dinner hours on Father’s Day. I am a German American, first generation, and grew up eating authentic German food (my grandparents have a small, successful, restaurant near Dusseldorf mind you). Next warning sign was that almost every German word was spelled incorrectly. Even their own name was spelled German SchnitzLE Haus on their Father’s Day menu. Big warning that the place isn’t German whatsoever. So first course came, Cucumber Salad for myself and Caeser Salad for my fiance. The Cucumber Salad was limp and overly sweet. My guess, as a chef of 12 years, is that the cucumbers had been soaking in this (overly sweet) vinaigrette for days before making its way to my plate. Also it was lacking in dill, but that’s a complaint for fellow Germans to understand. The major complaint there is that the Cucumber Salad is obviously not made fresh whatsoever, and is thus risky to even consume despite the vinegar. The Caesar Salad was, oddly enough, made of Iceberg and Spinach, not Romaine, and the dressing was ‘Mayonnaise and Ground Mustard’ when I asked. It was so far from a Caeser Salad, but it didn’t seem dangerous. I made my concerns known to the server, and the manager assured me that if we should have more concerns to let her know. I told her honestly: I want to see the Entrees, but if they are of the same quality as the Appetizers I would just ask for the check. She seemed OK with this answer, told me that Dessert is on her.Entrees come. Schweinbraten with Potato Salad and Leberkase with Spatzel. First things noticed were that the Potato Salad is not at all a Potato Salad. They were literally boiled Potato Wedges coated in (I was told Sour Cream, but I suspect) Mayonnaise and Ground Mustard. That’s it. Sour Cream/Mayonnaise with Ground Mustard coating Boiled Potatoes. Nothing German about that, I think all Americans are aware of how Germans make Potato Salad. The Schweinbraten was obviously reheated. The positive side is that it was tender. Other than that, it was pretty much dog food. It was dry, lacking in any distinguishable flavor, and had a pathetic thin sauce which tasted mostly of Balsamic Vinegar (was supposed to be a Gravy). I don’t trust the quality of this meat, it was of course reheated and who knows when it was made. The Leberkase was oddly soft internally but also dry, and it had a hard crispy exterior. Imagine two bricks made of ‘meat pate’ with a burned top. The flavor was predominantly, overbearingly really, of Fake Bacon. Bacon Bits, if you know the difference. Not worth touching even according to my fiance who doesn’t really know German food. The Schpatzel was soggy and appears to be premade. So I ask the server for the check within a minute, both of us frustrated and ready to go somewhere else for Father’s Day dinner. Our Bill was at full price, around $50. Of course I get up and speak to the manager at the bar. It was a slow enough night that she was just sitting at the bar. I initially tried to speak to her in German, but she does not understand German. She defended her food adamantly to try to have me pay full price, telling me that her chef is a Real German (TM), and that he has been a chef for 30 years, and took the opportunity to insult me. Luckily she agreed to charge 1/2 price, but $25 for 3 bites of food and a beer is STILL outrageous, especially considering the price, the illegitimacy, the horrible quality, the stubborn manager, and the lack of anything German other than the Beer. The Beer was great, I highly recommend Tucher Dunkelwiezen, but perhaps get it somewhere that you can enjoy a friendly staff and German food.

Poor service, food. Great bar as far as decor. Server’s dress too tight for her figure. REST of servers were tastefully dressed. Not a favorite for my family.
