One of my favorite restaurants in Jacksonville that seems to be losing its flare. The seafood gumbo was excellent with very tender shrimp and that distinct roux flavor. The shrimp etouffee was a little mild for me. Fried oysters were great. The two new sauces, however, did not impress me. I prefer the previous hot sauce piquant they used to serve. But the Jack Daniels bread pudding was excellent.
I didnt get to get the boudin balls that I ordered because they explained they werent coming out correctly when they cooked them and didnt want to give me something that may not have been good to me, which caused a little wait but other than that the food was good. We got the pick three to include the crawfish pie, mixed gumbo and roast and rice. We also got the deep fried turkey po boy and that was so very delicious!
The food here is absolutely amazing! Fresh and cooked to perfection! Gives you that southern cajun feel with each bite! Highly recommend the po’ boys!
