My wife and our eleven year old daughter went to Marker 32 for an anniversary dinner. The food was great, the service was excellent! The only thing I can add would have been for quite booths as we wanted a romantic atmosphere. Overall a nice experience.
Great food and view. Tends to get a bit noisey as the night goes on. Great for a special occasion or nice date night.
I had the same problem as another person. Food was outstanding but service was honestly just the worst I’ve ever experienced that put a complete damper on whole experience.
I would love to leave this place a rave review because the food is amazing, but unfortunately I can’t because the service was awful. We had corrie who was very nice, but completely lacking in service skills. Our dinner took almost two hours while everyone else seemed to have no problem getting drinks and food. It seriously made us question ever coming back. We begged her to please run our card so we could leave. So frustrating.
Ratchet. We started eating there when they opened. The last few times, it has not been good. Last night, the collard greens were too sweet, the fish had no taste, and the grits were overpowered by the gravy.
Good If You Have The Time. We had an early reservation and were promptly seated when we arrived. The bread was good and there was such a variety: spinach bread, baguette etc. My hubby had the grilled salmon and substituted oven potatoes for the orzo without any problems. The firm salmon was a large portion, had a mild taste and was grilled to his liking. The potatoes and the spinach were unremarkable as they okay but were basically plain. Instead of a traditional entre there were several appetizers that I wanted to try, so I ordered two and a salad. The fried green tomatoes were awesome as they were slightly tart and coupled with cheese and bacon. The bruschetta was tasty but the olive tapenade was skimpy and the baguettes were very thin and overly toasted so they were very fragile and did not hold the toppings very well. The house mixed green salad was okay as I loved the peanuts, raisins and vinaigrette but the salad mix was not to my liking. The bread pudding with ice cream was the perfect ending to our meal. It was delicious and was ample enough for two people. Our service was great as we never had an empty glass and our server was very attentive and polite. The only downside to our experience was the time involved. It was pushing 50 minutes for our meals to come out once we ordered, and then it took a good 15-20 minutes for our dessert to arrive. Overall, it took us two hours from start to finish which seemed like a long time for our uncomplicated meals. Plus I am so glad we went early because later in the evening the restaurant got very loud, maybe because the seats are so close together, and it was very difficult to carry on a conversation.
Amazeballs!!! Chef Trey did an outstanding job! Will come back again and again!
