That Avocado Salad.. Very good Mediterranean style food, more for a lunch setting than a dinner restaurant. There is a lot to choose from, including many cold salads, lamb, chicken, rice, and even pizza and wings if you’re not feeling adventurous. The avocado salad is awesome; definitely recommend! The lamb is your typical delicious gyro meat. I do prefer Cedar Pines over in East Orlando, but this is the best in the Sanford area.
Delicious. Love this place! Great service, delicious food and fast service. Thumbs up all around.
Healthy and Fresh!. The food is always fresh and at a great price. The service is even better. For a great, healthy and quick meal, Tony’s Deli is that palce to go. OUTSTANDING!!!Congrats guys!
Highly Recommended!. Tried this place recently with my girlfriend and I have to say we were both very impressed. The customer service was excellent, price was extremely reasonable, and the food was absolutely delicious! The name threw me off at first, it sounds like an Italian deli where one might go for subs, anti-pasta, pizzas, flat breads etc. But upon entering I was happy to learn it is Mediterranean food and they have a slew of healthy salads, falafels, stuffed grape leaves, hummus and if you are feeling like some meat to fill your gut they have all kinds of gyros to choose from. We were both very excited to see a vegetarian/vegan option come closer to Sanford. Now we no longer have to drive way down to Altamonte for Sweet Tomatoes to have a night off in the kitchen. It was nice that they walk you down the line an tell you what everything is, and if you are vegan or vegetarian they don’t look at you like you have three heads, they go right into what is on the menu for you, which was quite a selection! Some places hear you are vegetarian and they assume you want lettuce and tomatoes. Not Tony’s Deli, they are very outside the box with a bunch of creative options. Keep in mind also, I am a big guy who used to eat 24 oz steaks before recently going into a lifestyle change with my diet, and I didn’t go away hungry at all. Everything was made from scratch, friendly and helpful staff, and we will definitely be returning regulars in the future.
Sanford Gets a Winner!. Forget all you’ve known about Middle Eastern food in the Sanford/Orlando area, and come experience (by far) the freshest, most authentic, delicious experience around! Whether you’re a seasoned pro at this sort of thing, or new to the cuisine, Tony’s Deli will absolutely win you over. No fuss, no belly dancers, no hookahs.. just tasty, authentic food with low-calorie, nutrient-dense ingredients. Oh, did I mention, we’re vegan? We went in and were immediately greeted by a friendly, knowledgeable staff member/chef, who didn’t bat an eyelash when we mentioned we were vegan. He introduced us to the menu items suited to us (which included the vast majority of what was available), and I was very happy to see most of it not swimming in oil or depending on heavy, starchy carbs. We each ordered combo plates so we could taste as much as possible, and nothing disappointed in the least. Each new bite was fresh, and slightly different from the last. I’m a pretty decent home cook, and don’t think I could replicate most of these flavors at home (although they do have some selection of take-home ingredients for purchase if you want to try). It was a fantastically priced, super yummy meal we’ll go back for again and again. From what we’re told, the menu rotates, so if you’re interested in something in particular, call ahead and find out when they’ll have it. Can’t wait to try the marinated vegetables and cauliflower salad (at least, I think that’s what they were called). I should mention, Tony’s Deli does have carnivorous offerings that looked fantastic, as well. Something for everyone (aside from those who don’t like food that just plain tastes good)! Sorry we don’t have any photos to upload, but it was pretty much gone by the time we thought of it.
Just had lunch at Tony’s Deli and it was delicious. The staff was very helpful. We ordered a chicken gyro which was amazing! The tzatziki on it was especially good and the chicken was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the falafel sandwich which reminded him of the falafel he had in Israel it was inside a pita, whole falafel and pressed with a tahini sauce. We also ordered hummus and tabbouleh with some pita and it was the best I’ve ever had and very fresh. Finished the meal with the baklava and I wish we had gotten some to go. I will be recommending Tony’s Deli to everyone!
Take Two. I hear everyone rave about Tony’s Deli..I had the falafel and I was not impressed. Normally a falafel is a fried ball of chickpeas you put it in a pita or other style bread and eat it yummy. When I visited the guy broke up the fried ball leaving the chickpeas to crumble. I feel this was a technique that they use to cut costs, the falafel had a wonderful flavor so I know that their food must be good. The presentation and chopping up of the falafel made a lunch experience messy and not pleasent. I will however go back to try to the GYRO, or tell them to leave the falafel whole. So still a big thumbs up to local diners.
