Why doesn’t this have a rating of >90%?! It’s expensive. But it is authentic Italian owned by an Italian and waited on by what I assume are Italians. It reminds me of meals I had in Venice. It’s local, small, and exquisitely delicious. If you want a memorable meal you’ll be talking about long after you vacay has ended, cough up the cash and go make a menory.
Best I have tried in area. I have eaten at almost all restaurants in Captiva, Sanibel, and Fort Myers over the last 17 years and this is a pretty little gem. I am surprised by some reviews about the service , which we have always found to be more than excellent; remembering clientle and even making bespoke vegetarian versions of dishes. Restaurants in the area, we feel, tend to fail when they stray from anything other than cooking the excellent local fish. This place is an exception, they cook more complex dishes well and when you are sick of grouper sandwiches, buffalo wings and burgers it’s the place to go.
Bad experience. We went there as a family with two kids. The service was unfriendly and slow. The food was expensive and really bad.I love italian food, but this for sure was not italian, but just quick cooking for tourists. We really regret to go there.
Good but could be better. Great antipasti display as you enter what looks like a small beach cottage. Very intimate and pleasant setting. Found pasta dishes to be ok to good, but huge in portion size. Who needs 16 oz of pasta? I’d give up quantity to focus on getting to great in flavor. As a visitor I’d come back next trip.
On my list of best restaurants anywhere.
Wow what an amazing out of this world delicious dinner. The hubs had a Veal dish with Gorgonzola cheese and perfectly roasted vegetables! I had the mushroom ravioli to die for! And the dessert, lemoncello custard that was tart and sweet…my favorite even though I ordered the tiramisu ! Awesome restaraunt!
Visited Sanibel last year.Food was delicious .Would go back again.Place is small .Service was very good as well.We will be back.
