After a 30 minute wait, we were seated in this tiny, crowded restaurant. We ordered our food, then waited TWO HOURS for our food, which was good, but did NOT warrant a wait that long. This place has great reviews, but the service was absolutely awful, I will NOT be going there ever again

This is the original and best Lazy Flamingo. Been coming here since I was a kid. 30 years later it hasn’t changed a bit. Come in straight off the beach or a bike ride without primping cause nobody cares what you look like here. I love their Caesar salads. Just had it with mesquite salmon–large and delicious. When they have the seared tuna get it. I like it on a sandwich with Matouk’s hot sauce slathered on top. Raw oysters and wings are great. If you like really hot food and are feeling adventurous order the Dead Parrot Wings and a pitcher or 2 of beer. Be ready for the heat induced endorphin rush and be sure to have separate paper towels for hands, mouths, nose and eyes. This is a warning. And, guys, after downing all the beer you will need to cool your mouth and body down you will undoubtedly need to visit the head. Be careful what you touch. That’s all I will say. Quintessential super casual island dining. Love it.

Money!!!!. Second time to Captiva-Sanibel and found this gem on departure. Once again users got it right. Steak sandwich the way I grew up. wow loved her grouper. Kids loved smoked fish, chowder, burger, et al. Great staff and cold beer.

Lazy Flamingo IS Captiva to us. We got to Captiva as often as possible but lately has only been about every other year with the economy. But the biggest thing my wife and I look forward to when we go is the Lazy Flamingo closest to Captiva where we stay. The food is phenomenal, priced well and the coldest beer anywhere! Love the Grouper usually grilled but sometimes fried. Wife loves the shrimp. Have had the blue crab and a unusual fish called triple tail there that was fantastic. Have even taken one of my daughters with us on one of the trips although it is usually just the wife and I. Bottom line? Man I wished they delivered carry out to Holt, MO but still would not have the charm or view of the restaurant itself. We don’t even bother eating seafood in the KC area because it is pointless. Will never be as good as Lazy Flamingo. Man do we miss it:)

Service was friendly but the grilled grouper ceaser was fantastic! We also had the fried grouper sandwich which had a very tasty sauce. Beer is real cold too!

Not a bad spot for a local vibe and some above par food!
