Fabulous! Started off with the Crab Dip which we thought we might take home leftovers – nope! Lapped it all up! Two of us had the Crab Crusted Grouper which was excellent – the grouper was expertly prepared. A Caribbean flavor but oh so delicious! Hubby had the night special of Alaskan King Crab legs and loved it. House made bread with yummy dipping oil. And you get a huge scoop of ice cream with dinner – a wide array of flavors! Our server from Massachusetts was friendly, knowledgeable and service was spot on. We will definitely come back!
Great family dining experience. Off the beaten path a bit but worth it. Great food and service, enjoyed by our family of 6. Crab cakes and coconut shrimp were exceptional! Dinner entrees even come with 2 scoopes of ice cream…an added bonus! Highly recommend Rosie’s!
We all ordered the lunch type foods, and none were good. The taco salad was lettuce and a crumbled up hamburger with no seasoning… Beyond bland. The Caribbean style chicken sandwich was bland, small, and mostly bun. No sauce of any kind. The mahi tacos were more of the same… Little or no seasoning or taste. The French fries were awful… Limp and greasy, yet undercooked. We were shocked by the poor food quality, as we selected Rosie’s based on other reviews. We won’t be back. It was by far the worst local meal we’ve had in 10+ years coming to Sanibel/ Captiva.
Dinner from Toledo, OH. Excellent choice for a casual dinner with the family on vacation. Quiet and somewhat off the beaten path. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Staff very friendly and polite. Ice cream was the perfect ending to the dinner. Can’t wait to go back again…. Go Bucks!
It was good for lunch. Place was deserted at 12:30 on a Saturday?? Everyone was satisfied. Nothing extraordinary but great for lunch.
I should have known better when the place was 1/2 empty on a Friday night- terrible food – over cooked-food not fresh, fries and shrimp from frozen, potato salad and coleslaw massed produced .waitress who greeted us complained about having been here since 10 in the am and repeated how rushed she was each time she talked to us .
This is our first trip to Sanibel since Rosie’s opened in the old Hungry Heron location. When the Heron closed, the owners stated it would reopen as Rosie’s, but that it would incorporate portions of the Heron menu. Unfortunately, the only portions that remain are the reupholstered booths and the sea life wall mural. There are no vegetarian options save one salad and one wrap. Unlike the old Heron, the children’s menu is limited to the usual fare. I’m not going to knock the food, but rather want others to know that Rosie’s is vastly different from the Hungry Heron.
