Very disappointed in our visit to the sea star cafe. We walked in and there was no one there to greet and seat us. Finally a young girl came to seat us. Her appearance/clothes was very unprofessional looking. The appetizers were good but the main course was horrible, the mashed potatoes they served were instant! There was one other couple in the restaurant when we first arrived, another couple came shortly after and they were served dinner rolls after they were seated, we were never offered dinner rolls. My husband asked for another beer and never got it, not sure what the problem was because they were not busy at all, however I think the waitress was also the bartender. Not much to choose from on the menu and price is high! Will never eat there again.
With the restaurant empty, it took close to 10 minutes to be seated, we were not even approached until we simply tried to sir down and were told we have to wait for a waiter. Ordered something simple, a chicken Caesar salad, the chicken was colder than the salad. My wifes Hawaiian chicken was also cold, and the white wine she ordered was at room temperature. Not sure what happened, but we will not return.
Our meal here was excellent. Kobe burger and chicken kabobs were flavorful, cooked perfectly and presented nicely. Good selection of food for any time of day. Establishment is beautiful on the inside with warm wood and elegant lighting. Service was excellent. Can’t wait to come back!

Breakfast buffet with huge variety, but a the place is a little too calm for me. take the bar with you to the beach at sunset.
Sea Star is a train wreck. Sea Star is a disaster. It is a beautiful room but no one, no one has a clue what they are doing. The pasta was overcooked mush swimming in gunk, certainly not vodka sauce, the salty onion soup was served barely warm, and returned with huge pieces of onion and unmelted cheese of some kind. The crab meat was old and fishy smelling. Not a dish was decent, not a single one, Even the drinks were screwed up. The manager did absolutely nothing about our terrible meal but ask us to come back again. Why would we when there are so many restaurants on Sanibel. Are they counting on stupid tourists.
This is an amazing find on sanibel ,the restarant is very upscale,beautiful wood work,great staff,,the drinks are not over priced,and the food is so well presented,very exsquised taste and fresh quality,,the chef has done a awsome job at putting together this menu..the managment should be very proud too work by his side,so dont be late ,ill see you at sea star…a above average food critic..
