My wife and I LOVED Thistle Lodge Restaurant. The food was outstanding, the view was wonderful, the service was excellent, and our server was very informative and pleasant. We had a perfect evening at the Thistle Lodge. It’s now our favorite restaurant in the area and we can’t wait to go back.
As we were staying at Casa Ybel we thought we’d try the Thistle Lodge for dinner one night. It was amazing! From the friendly, knowledgeable waiter to the excellent food, and wonderful atmosphere it couldn’t be faulted! It was so good we ate there another night during our week long stay!We also had a couple of very good lunches by the pool.
I have never had a bad meal here. Tonight was no exception. It was a special night as I was celebrating a 30 year anniversary with my husband. The lobster bisque was exceptional and the main courses of the rack of lamb and the scallops were excellent. The Tartuffo and creme brle was a perfect ending. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent, special meal. This is one of the best restaurants on the island, in my opinion.
Overpriced and inedible food. Visited for dinner. Drinks were not well made, waitstaff tended bar. Cornish game hen was so dry we assumed it had been reheated several times. Short ribs tasted like they had been microwaved. Veggies were reduced to mush. Great location and atmosphere but not much else.
Ahi Tuna Trio. A tasty starter!
Filet Of Beef Tenderloin. Over salted, glue like, inedible potatoes! Asparagus charred to mush. Beef was full of gristle, I couldn’t even cut it. Had to send back, only to get another inferior piece! Clearly this is not a prime beef as described. Awful experience!20 Sep, 2014Beefsteak Tomato & Mozzarella Salad. Tomatoes were grocery store quality. Nothing special. Good pesto and balsalmic20 Sep, 2014Herb Crusted Lamb Rack. Overdone, over salted glue potatoes served over stale greens. Awful!20 Sep, 2014Bread. Stale bread!20 Sep, 2014Over priced with outdated decor. I had the beef tenderloin and sent it back because it was tough and full of gristle:surely not prime beef as described. It was served with gluey over salted mashed potatoes and over cooked asparagus. My husband’s rack of lamb was so pathetic with a small serving and overlooked as well. We complained and our waiter did all he could do to rectify a bad meal. The only right choice was to refund put money which he offered to do. At $48 per entree, it was the only thing to do. Terrible experience !!!
Not worth the price. My husband and I decided to have Easter Brunch at Thistle Lodge Restaurant this year. The grounds of the resort were lovely but the brunch was a complete disappointment. We were seated at a very small table with barely room to move. The selections were limited and the food was mediocre and not of good quality. None of the desserts were ‘homemade’. Considering the fact that we were charged $49.95 per person with a mandatory 20% gratuity added for a waiter who did little else but bring drinks and butter to the table (when asked), we came to regret our choice of restaurants. In other words, don’t waste your time or money…
