I’ve eaten at The Timbers many times since about 1995, and I’ve never had a bad experience.Had dinner there tonight. The service was excellent, the food was good, and there was lots of it. I’m puzzled by some of the reviews I see here. I wonder if there are just some people who can’t be pleased. Here’s another way I can put it. If you’re from Wisconsin, and you like Wisconsin supper clubs, you will be at home at the Timbers.
They have a fantastic selection of fish including many local caught. The selection is fresh daily & they know how to cook it just right. We had Cobia & Sesame Tuna. The veggies were soft & overcooked. However I would definitely go back.
Went here for dinner with my family recently. We were a party of 7, but we were able to get a table immediately. The waiter seemed distracted–my mother and brother-in-law both had the wrong order sent out, but the kitchen did correct the mistake pretty quickly. I ordered fairly basic with both the Scottish salmon and dill sauce and mixed veggies, which were good, though unexceptional. Many family members sampled the crab bisque and the crunchy grouper, which were both excellent. Overall, dinner wasn’t anything extraordinary, but definitely a solid meal choice if you’re on the island.
Just ate at timbers with my family. Service was horrible . After food was served our waiter must have quit because we never saw him again.. Wanted to order more drinks etc. food was ok but horribably over priced . Plenty of better other places on the island . We will not come back.
Great food always but…. We had a horrible waiter. He was so unfriendly, didn’t ask if we wanted fresh ground pepper on our salads, a must for me. Never came and asked how our dinners were. We had to flag him down to get another glass of wine. We’ve always had such nice people wait on us but this waiter was not a nice person at all. I noted the he pretty much treated all the guests he served with the same awful attitude. Only gave him a 10% tip, normally we give 20%.
Won’t ever know. I’ve never eaten there and recon I never will We arrived early but went inside an area where they were waiting on people at fish market I figure it’s ok because there are wine glasses hanging and knobs for draft beer So we sit there and sit and no one speaks Ok if we are stupidly sitting somewhere you can’t acknowledge us I guess we coulda waited and went on over to other door but it left such a bad taste in my mouth They knew we were clueless and didn’t even offer to helpSo I left Went to sanibel grill and it was fabulous Greeted right away hell coulda been sittin in a tree outside and spoke to I’m almost glad timbers didn’t want to speak
Don’t understand what all the buzz is about. Just your average joe sea food, nothing special to write home about. Go to Doc Ford’s or Island Cow!
