Have been here a couple of times for lunch and always enjoyed the soup and sandwiches, actually liked them a lot, we hadn’t been back in quite some time, so when we found ourselves needing to head out to Walmart for some Christmas decorations Friday morning we decided to try them for breakfast.Umm….breakfast is a different experience all together from lunch, and was pretty terrible. I ordered the Spanish omelet with a side of biscuits and gravy and skillet potatoes. The omelet was not good, the eggs were overcooked, actually crunchy in places, and for the cheese it had two melted american singles on the outside and no cheese on the inside. The skillet potatoes were gray and mushy, and the sausage gravy tasted only of raw flower. My daughter ordered the biscuits and gravy for her breakfast and ate two bites. My wife did not like her’s either, and only ate enough to not look rude.I would like to assume that the cook was out sick and someone was filling in for him/her until they get better. I just appears that whoever cooked our meal has not been in the kitchen very much. The place was crowded and only a few tables were empty, this also makes me have to assume that this was an off day for them and I hope that their breakfast usually is as good as their lunch. I will leave it up to you guys to tell me though, I will be going only for lunch for now on.My rating is as high as it is as a nod to how good their lunch has been in the past. Hopefully it is still as good as it used to be.
Best lunch place ever. This is a very friendly environment with a lovely staff and delicious food.
Great Restaurant. I’ve been to Sail in twice for lunch now and it is amazing. By far the best place to eat at in this area. I had the BLT, pepper soup, country fried steak and all were really good. Wish they had better hours though.
Breakfast. Stopped here for breakfast on a recommendation from friend. Coffee is wonderful, I ordered the pancake, egg, bacon breakfast. The eggs were good but cold, the bacon was fried almost black (not good) and the pancakes were not good at all, had no flavor to them, they tasted like flour. Have not been back for lunch. I want to thank them though for giving a military discount and supporting the military. I think I will try the lunch next time, Boars Head meats are the best quality you can find around here so they do take pride in the choice of meats.
Good Burger. Nothing turns my head more than a burger on a sub roll, and they are increasingly hard to find. This was a well seasoned tender patty, and the texture of the bread was also very good. The space and the staff are great too.
Love this place for breakfast! Alway fast and friendly service with good food. I haven’t ever stopped for lunch, but really need to add that to my list of things to do!
Best breakfast in the area. Not only does Sail Inn have an outstanding lunch, their breakfast is a wonderful welcome to your morning! Friendly and attentive staff (like you are at mom and dad’s having a meal) but the place is very clean! family friendly too!
