What you expect….Just a good sandwich. First day in Siesta Keys we wanted something quick and close and Anna’s Deli fit both of those. Anna’s is like most street deli’s I guess… not a lot of decoration or selection but good at what they do. They serve different types of lunch meat on different types of bread. I ordered the corned beef on pumpernickel with tomato, onion, and mustard. It was all tasty and the mustard was a good brown mustard. My girlfriend ordered roast beef on pumpernickel with lettuce, onion, tomato, and mustard on the side (after she tried mine first). She also ordered a pickle. The food was decent but it was quick. Can’t complain because it is what it is. Anna’s should offer way more toppings than what is offered, and, with almost $8 a sandwich, they should throw in a side of chips and a pickle. Those cost extra.

Good round sandwich. I stopped in today for The Surfer, their signature sandwich. It is a good sandwich, made on their special round shaped can bread. The uniqueness is more with the shape than anything else. It is soft loaf type bread. The Surfer is made with piles of very thinly sliced ham and turkey, cheese, cucumbers, and the Anna sauce (mayo based) that gives the sandwich a mild but still flavorful taste. The place is not bright or shiny but also not dark or dingy. They have about 8 tables and a couple of small TVs. The dcor includes several Readers Choice Awards they have won over the years. There was a short line when I arrived but it moved along well with the sandwiches being made just as fast as the orders were taken. Annas is located just south of Stickney Point Rd on Midnight Pass Rd just before the post office, and there is plenty of parking.
