Big Disappointment. After working in Sarasota the whole day, without stopping to have a meal, before hitting the road to go back to Clearwater I decided to find a place to eat. I spent some time researching where to go, and was in doubt between Bangkok and Mi Pueblo. As a Thai food lover, I picked Bangkok after reading at Sarasota Magazine that it won best Thai by reader’s choice in 2012. Pretty place inside, kind host and nice ladies who tried to take my order twice. Good service, I guess. for appetizer I asked for Kenom Jeeb. The presentation was ok, with the cheap iceberg lettuce as garnishment. The dumplings were supposed to be filled with a combination of shrimp and chicken, but the taste was the further think from that. I have eaten in the past, without knowing, some creatures that our culture considers as household pets, and I am not proud of it. Well, that is exactly what those dumplings tasted like. I just could not eat it. I should have walked away right there and then, but decided to give the Seafood combination Green Curry a try. No kidding, I counted 17 big roughly cut pieces of green peppers (maybe they should rename the dish), 4 small shrimps(the menu said large fresh gulf shrimp) that had obviously been frozen before, some scallops and a few pieces of what could be anything, even the squid announced on the menu, 3 pieces of uncooked zucchini, peas and 2 pieces of red pepper. The rice though was abundant, of course. I thought about returning my plate and complaining, but was afraid they might bring it back with other undesirable personal body fluids. The cost of that plate? $15.99. Was it worth it? No way!!!! Never ever going back. I should have chosen Mexican.
Food and decor are amazing! A great place if you’re vegetarian or vegan. Makes a romantic date!
Sandy. After reading some great reviews we decided to take my In laws and check it out. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Food just didn’t have a lot of flavor. Sorry but we just don’t understand all the praise. Very nice people but food needs some help. My in laws lived in Asia for over 30 years and we all know and love Thai food. We would highly recommend Star Thai off of Beneva. Always great food. Plus they have sushi. Best of both worlds.
It was not on the top but average thai food. Order spicy if you like spices. Medium is really blend. Communication is an issue, so double check your order.
The best Pad Thai in town. Everything is fresh, and you can choose mild or medium or spicy. Spring rolls are delicious. Take-out is quick if you go that route. Loved everything I’ve ever eaten there! My favorite Thai restaurant!
Ok..Nothing Special. I have had people go crazy for this place and swear its like eating in Thai land. I dont know what to say its ok. Bangkok is not anywhere in the same league as Star Thai. But the food is decent.
Used to be good. Really fallen off in the past few years, needs to be remodeled and cleaned. Food, Meh…………
