Excellent food. I stopped in today for a burrito and left full and happy. It is a fairly small place and was not busy when I visited. I was greeted with warm chips and two types of salsa, a nice start. They offer more than a dozen types of burritos as well as other items, including a long list of entrees. I tried the Lean Ground Beef Burrito and for an upcharge, got it wet.I dont know too much about what constitutes a terrific burrito from a pretty good one, but I thought this one was excellent. And if judging by size, this small one I had was plenty. They also offer a larger size if you are so inclined. If you are a big empty container you can even take their burrito challenge, an 8lb Mongo Burrito described as the biggest in Florida, and free if you can finish it off in under an hour.Service was very pleasant and it only took about 5 minutes from ordering until my burrito arrived, nice and quick if you have a short lunch window. They also do a takeout business.
Best Mexican in Sarasota. Seriously great Mexican food. Easily best in Sarasota. And top 5 I have ever had. I love Mexican food and Sarasota in general is frankly bad at it. This place breaks the mold. Everything is made with NATURAL INGREDIENTS – Chips, Guacamole, Salsa, real burritos, etc. The list of things they do perfect go on and on.
Best Mexican in Sarasota. Wonderful… is the only way to describe our visit to this small quaint Mexican Restaurant which was seven minutes from our stay on Siesta Key. Inside is very clean, theres a beautiful handmade rug art on the dining room wall, and other Mexican artwork adorn the surroundings. The ladies restroom was charming, server was politely on cue, and offered us complimentary guacamole for our first visit. All four of us tried something different, and tasted a little of each dish. The beef wet burrito, and chicken flautas were among the best Ive eaten. You can tell that the food is made fresh! The chips were warm and crispy, hot sauce a bit too hot for our liking, but the mild suited us well. We did have to ask about the salsas because we did not know that the mustard and ketchup squeeze bottles had salsa, but after being explained it made sense and we did not have to keep asking for more. If you order pico de gallo there is an additional charge. In summary we were overly surprised and very pleased with everything including the prices. Burritos is a good food at great prices kinda place tip: 4-7pm happy hour the import beers were only $2.50.Mary & Bill Holm – Scottsburg, Indiana
My husband and I went there because the ratining was 85%. I agree with the person that had all of the red flags. This is the worst Mexican food we have ever had. The chips were cooked in old oil. The salsa was bland. Everything tasted like it had been microwaved or reheated. We give it a zero out of five stars. Oh, and when we pulled in the parking lot the dumpster out back smelled horrible. That should have been an indication of what was to come.
HORRID!!. Red Flag #1: A long time local had never heard of the place.Red Flag #2: Two people dining on a Sunday night at 7pm.Red Flag #3: Most disgusting salsa ever conceived by man.Red Flag #4: Stale chips.Red Flag #5: Queso was Condensed Campbell’s Nacho Cheese Soup.Should never have ordered dinner after these 5 red flags but was hungry. I ordered a combo plate-1 beef enchilada, 1 burrito and 1 taco. My wife ordered the chicken chimichanga. The ground beef on my combo was not like any beef I have ever seen. Pulverized into almost a dry paste. No seasoning, no taste, and dry as sand. The chicken in my wife’s chimichanga was the same consistency. Nothing in the chimichanga but ground up chicken, if it was chicken. We both took one bite and left. On the way home, we stopped at Moe’s. Stay far away from this place at all cost. Dinner cost us $30 before tip and with the queso taken off the bill since we sent that back.
Great food at a great price! Delicious and fresh, convenient and friendly! We will go back!
Great Food. The food here is awesome! I had the burrito and my wife had the shrimp tacos they were both pretty awesome! The service was good! The place was cool and had little games on the table so you could generate some conversation while your eating chips and waiting on your main course. Everything was really good and I will definitley go back several more times! There are 4-5 other restaurants in the strip mall that look good but they were still pretty busy, which says alot about how good the food was!
