Italian? At the beach? YES if you go to Cafe Gabbiano!!!. When we got to Siesta Keys we noticed several Italian restaurants. With the lack of seafood places on the key we decided to take a chance with Gabbiano’s. We were so happy with this restaurant. Everything we ate here was top notch. We ate outside and didn’t even go inside the restaurant at all. Our waiter was Julio and he was amazing. He kept the water full and was so personal and not overbearing at all. Everything here is classic homemade Italian as far as we could tell. The bread was fresh and not bought at the grocery store around the corner. He brought it out with a wonderful little dipping oil and whipped garlic butter. I ordered the Pollo Parmigiana with a side of Penne Marinara. My girlfriend got the Lasagne. We were both extremely happy with the food especially the marinara sauce. WOW. The chicken was juicy and fork tender and breaded perfect. The penne was just penne but the marinara took it to another level. WOW again. My girlfriend loved her Lasagne and I tasted it and it was wonderful. To top off the night we ordered the Tiramisu which was out of this world. Served with sprinkled cocoa powder, confectionary sugar and wonderful creme. You have to get this if you go there. It was difficult to eat just one.
