Best ribs in the bay area. I can see how some people may have voted against D&R if they did not try the ribs. But if they did—shame on them! Go back, try the ribs, and change your vote doubters! =)While I agree that the pulled pork Q is somewhat mediocre, the ribs are fantastic. They are somewhat lean—or rather not too fatty—and basted with their home-made sauce which seems to be a perfect combination of the 3 BBQ sauce genres: tomato, mustard, and vinegar. You have the option of getting mild or hot. If you are still not convinced, keep in mind they will absolutely let you try the ribs before purchasing them. As a matter of fact, if it is your first time, let them know, they will probably insist you try it. Those guys are cool. =)There are several sides to choose from. I think they usually have white bread, green beans, collard greens, peel-and-eat shrimp, and peach cobbler.D&R is an open air tent in a small parking lot with a pit within coin flipping distance. =) It is ONLY open on Saturdays, I think from about 10am until they run out of food in the afternoon. If I remember correctly, they are cash only.Go by, pick up some ribs and sides, and find a picnic bench in a park, or a shaded spot on one of the small strips of beach, and ‘go to town!’ Then, later on, stop by Sweetberries for some ice cream, or Yoder’s for some key lime pie. Mmm….
