Major Problems Here. 7pm Sunday, came in for a meal. They advertise a martini special, but no one knew how to make martinis — we were told the manager left. Asked about a meal special on board. Waitress did not know cost, nor did anyone else. So hubby ordered spaghetti and I ordered pizza. Husband got and ate his spaghetti while. I waited for pizza. And waited. And waited. Finally waitress announced my pizza had been delivered to another table. They were hustling to make another, but would not offer any concessions. This place is near our home and I always liked it, but it seems to be having some major issues. Hence I would not recommend.
My experience was good pizza. In reading other reviews I expected a busy place when I stopped in for lunch around 12:30 on this Thursday, and it was anything but. I tried one of their award winning pizzas and found it very good. My Hungry Man 10 inch pizza had a thin crust that held up very well. It was their pizza with a variety of meat toppings.There was only one other table occupied while I was there. My server still did an excellent job, not only providing all the serving activities you should expect in a friendly way but also making sure he was available by periodically passing by. Sometimes when a place is almost empty the staff can forget to provide good service to those few that are dining. That was definitely not the case today.I like the setup, tables are grouped into three seating areas and there is a counter where you can sit and watch your pizza being made. Old Italian photos on the wall provide a nice dcor. They also have a few tables outside.Filippos is located in a shopping area on the Southeast corner of University Pkwy and Lockwood Ridge Rd over by the Outback Steakhouse.My server explained lunchtime can be slow and today was slow even for lunch, but he assured me they get very busy in the evening. Maybe that is when the lady the other older reviews mention comes in and yells at everyone, I really have no idea. What I can say is I had some very good pizza provided by excellent service.

What a disappointment!. The pizza is good. However, we decided to have something else. First we were served old, stale bread. They brag about their mussels appetizer…they were NOT fresh and very rubbery, with a faint foul smell. And this is a Friday night!The waitress was completely non-informative, seemed liked she’d rather be in the North Pole…and served my nasty mussel appetizer, along with my dry spinach salad (which I’m sure they shaked out of a bag)….without any silverware to eat it with. I was completely gobsmacked! We’ll NEVER go back…especially after checking out their kitchen….disgusting!!!!!
Fantastic bread sticks. Good, thin, tasty pizza with good quality toppings. It’s not Brooklyn or Queens but it a fair step above Florida normal. PS: Almost skipped the place due to crazy-owner-wife reviews bit either she’s gone or wasn’t in today. If she is NOT gone, the za is good but not enough to overcome a negative environment.
