Total Attitude of Pizza Maker Owner. Notice how the cheese, sausage & mushrooms don’t go to the edge of the sauce.I have ordered pizza from this restaurant on numerous occasions via telephone and then picked them up. However on this occasion I went in to order two extra large pizzas, one plain and the other with sausage & mushroom. I watched the man make the pizza’s & questioned if the sausage & mushroom was an extra large as it looked quite small. He then proceeded to stretch the pizza, pulling the dough out to make it larger. The only problem was that he did not add any more sausage, cheese or mushrooms.I don’t feel that this is anyway for the owner of the restaurant to treat it’s customers.I’ll never go back!
Amazing food, very reasonable prices, make sure to sit in the front of the restaurant. Service is great and very friendly. Make sure to try their pizza or specials, awesome!
Was hoping to find great NY pizza but was disappointed. The flavor of the crust, sauce, and cheese were all wrong. The sauce/cheese ratio was off. Also, no coca-cola. Choices were Pepsi, Sierra Mist, sweet tea. Salad was above average for a pizza place. Cannoli was a bit runny but decent flavor.
Best Veal Ever. I love the Provimi veal at Franchesco’s. It is fat, tender and delicious! It’s the best I have had in my life!! I wish their tomato sauce was not so sweet. The service is good and the food is well priced for what you get.
Excellent NY style pizza. Our first visit to Francescos was a good one. I liked the place, it is not tiny but also far from large, and has a nice subtle Italian feel with small framed pictures and music in the background. I liked our server, friendly and efficient.I really liked our pizza. We ordered the Margherita and it was perfectly cooked with a liberal amount of delicious sauce. The bottom crust held that slightly crunchy firmness through most of the meal. A little fresh mozzarella on top would have been nice but it was an excellent pie just the way it was.Francescos can be found in the shops on the SE corner of Webber St and Beneva Rd. They not only make award winning pizza but offer many other dishes. I went for the pizza but it was Tuesday and on Tuesdays you can construct for about $10 a dish by picking a pasta, a sauce, and up to 4 toppings. There were lots of choices, and looked so good I almost decided to forego the pizza.
We ordered their meat lovers pizza and an order of mussels for delivery. It was terrible! The mussels were cold and tasteless and the pizza crust tasted like a wet dish sponge. I am a srq native and been to many different restraunts. They need to use a higher protien flour for their crusts (take a tip from your nieghbor). Anyway would not recommend!
Best Italian restaurant in Sarasota. So far best marinara I’ve ever had. I love Italian food and I’ve tried plenty of pastas and marinaras. No doubt Francesco’s has one of the best pastas I’ve had. Also the pizzas are divine. The service is remarkable. I would recommend this restaurant to everybody that has a love of great italian food.
