Muffin was much better than I expected and the iced coffee was very good.
We were visiting the area and happened to discover this place. Having a dairy allergy, I was pleased to find that most of their baked good are dairy free and casein free in addition to being gluten free. And that didn’t effect the taste at all. I bought three different muffins and a brownie, all tasted great. A little on the pricey side, but worth it I think, if you have an allergy and are craving certain sweets and baked goods. I only regret we don’t live closer but the employees told me they do take orders and ship.
The muffin was delicious. As the name states, this is a totally gluten free bakery. I stopped in wondering how much worse my muffin would be than a regular bakery item. I should not have been concerned as my Coconut Chocolate Muffin was moist and delicious. The flavor of coconut was part of every single bite and there were lots of little chocolate chips.They have many bakery items in a display case and according to their website offer many different types of bread. For those who must avoid wheat and those who choose to, this is a great niche bakery to visit. They have four small tables inside.It is an order at the counter kind of place and the person who filled my order did fine. It was not busy. While my interaction was businesslike the next customer that arrived was a mother with two small children, and that brought out a friendly and charming side.Island Gluten Free Bakery is located just west of US41 along Stickney Point Rd in the shopping plaza that includes Stonewood Grill & Tavern. They offer sandwiches as well as bakery items.
Delicious!!!!. I love their food, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. My favorite items are the veggie sub and zucchini chocolate chip muffins. I feel good knowing their kitchen is 100% gluten free. Lots of dairy free stuff, too. Worth the drive for me.
Best GF bakery ever!. I was stunned when I first ate a muffin from Island Bakery.I bought a lemon poppy seed muffin and a loaf of bread the first time. They were both so good I couldn’t tell they were gluten-free! And HERE in Sarasota! The bakers here engage in some sort of alchemy because most of the baked goods taste as good or better than regular flour-based bakery items.I especially love their pizza crusts.
