Might be good. My wife saw this restaurant described on the Sarasotafoodie website and wanted to give it a try. Im always ready to go to a new to me place so we stopped in for lunch.The restaurant takes up the back half of a small grocery store. This is a small place, there is a counter going around the open cooking area but no other seating. Our server was nice and helpful as we tried to decide what to have. I went with their Arepa Mixta, beef, chicken and pork belly on an Arepa.We started with a roll called Pandebono. We both liked it and thought it would be even better warm. Then came our selections and I didnt like mine. My beef and chicken was dry, and I learned I didnt like the pork belly even a little bit. There were a few sauces and while I tried a mayo and cilantro one I remember having before, I was just never going to like my lunch. My wife did better but brought much of hers home to work on later. Our server did suggest I get cheese on mine but I wanted it authentic. In hindsight I should have listened to her.I chalk this up to more a type of food that doesnt fit my palate as opposed to anything badly prepared. I cant say it was bad because I dont know how it is supposed to be. The place was busy with most of the stools taken by the time we left and they did a good takeout business. We also understand they plan to expand by moving the restaurant to another spot in the same shopping plaza, so I have to assume what they do is good. It was just not good to me.
