  Mother’s Day Dinner. My husband took me for dinner on Mother’s Day. We were warmly greeted and seated quickly. Drinks were ordered and served immediately. The potato latkes with chives, sour cream and apple sauce were fresh and tasty. The Butternut Squash Soup was beautifully presented and was outstanding. We shared a Michigan Salad which contained mixed greens, yellow and red tomatoes, cherries and blue cheese. The cherries balanced the blue cheese perfectly against the salad. My husband had the rack of lamb with rosemary sauce. It was cooked medium rare as ordered. My crab cakes contained mostly crab meat and were served with a melange of vegetables cooked perfectly. We usually do not order dessert, but we were so impressed to this point we made an exception. He ordered the flourless chocolate-expresso cake. So moist it melted in your mouth. I had the poached pear with vanilla ice cream. Again, another excellent choice. Service was always with a smile and most professional. The restaurant was small but immaculate and very quaint. We both felt as though we were in a five star European restaurant. It was intimate and quite comfortable. We feel most lucky to find this exceptional gem only minutes from home. I’m sure we will visit frequently. Morel certainly exceeded our expectations!
