Oh so delicious!. This restaurant was recommended by a friend. My husband and I tried it tonight for the first time. The food was very simple, but oh so delicious!

Not good. It was not at all what we expected, the food was bad enough not to plan any future visits to this restaurant. The toasted bread was a turn-off so we asked them not to toast it only to find the bread needed to be toasted because it was so bad. Sorry to say, I rather go to Olive Garden than here

Love this place!!! Great family friendly restaurant with the best food ever. Complimentary prosecco and appetizer; best best pastas and veal. Go there but make a reservation!! It’s small and very popular. You’ll love it!!!

Excellent food, but super tight quarters! The chef made me spaghetti with clams – such a simple dish but oh sooo delicious. My friend had ravioli stuffed with mushrooms and they were divine as well. I just wish the atmosphere was a tad less hectic. The people waiting for tables were in my space as I ate.

Excellent…a must try!. Excellent authentic Italian. The Chef and Staff were very pleasant and friendly and did all they could to ensure we were satisfied. If you’re looking for authentic Italian you must try this place. If you’re looking for an alternative to Olive Garden and other American Italian restaurants, this may not be a place for you. Dining here is a great opportunity to enjoy the cultural difference between America and Italy. Get there early or make reservations. Enjoy!!!

Authentic Italian food, very casual feel, great people, this place is a hit! Given the quality of the food and excellence of the service, this place is very modestly priced. I had two glasses of wine, a specialty entree, and dessert with coffee for $41. Coming from the mid-Atlantic, that is a steal especially considering that the food was extraordinary. Thanks, Chef!

Welcome to the Pasta Nazi. I always thought the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld was a great character, but simply that, a fictional character. Until today. Today, I met the Pasta Nazi. the chef and owner of Oh Mamma Mia in Gulf Gate, Sarasota. We arrived early at the restaurant(party of four with a reservation), and were offered a table right by the front door, where we could see (and could be seen) by everyone coming and going through the door.I looked around and espied an empty table for four in the back. I mentioned to the hostess that we would prefer that table and panic flashed through her face. Apparently I had done the inexcusable and asked for a change in the tightly controlled running of the restaurant. See, not only do they take reservations, but they assign you a table when the reservation is made, and it’s very hard to change. After consulting with a gentleman in a white chef’s garb, she suggested a hightopper table behind the table we wanted, but I don’t enjoy eatingt fine food on a bar table, so I asked what the big problem was to swap one table for four for another one. Then the big gun came into the picture, the chef in black. He approached us and suggested he could give us his keys so we could run his restaurant. When I pointed out that we only wanted to take a different table of the same capacity, he calmly pointed us to the door.In any event, I can’t recommend Mamma Mia’s food, since I never got to to taste it. I can only say that I prefer my dining adventure a little more relaxed.i can recommend another Italian restaurant we went to after so rudely being shown the door.. The Italian Grill, a couple of miles south of Gulf gate on 41. The atmosphere was relaxed, we were seated promptly without a reservation, the waiter was great, and the food was perfect. Fresh sauces, good meats and delicious Italian pasta. So, next time you want to order your food, move down the line and not ask for extras(thanks, Jerry) go to Oh Mamma Mia. If you want the opposite, go to the Italian Grill.
