Yes for coffee & bakery … No for lunch. The Pine Nut Cookies & Canolli were tasty, but the Balclava was either old or just bad. None of the lunch items were fresh & were way over salted.

A favorite Sarasota bakery. From cookies to cakes to Cannolis to Calzones, pastries, bread and much more, Paisanos has a set of display cases to make you smile. I stopped in for something sweet. Not seeing the more extreme sweet items like sticky buns or raisin rolls, I settled on something called Apple Slice. Thick pastry with apples not as sweet or moist as pie filling was not exactly what I was looking for but still good. With so many choices I could have selected better. They have (large) single serving cake slice sizes that looked great and were so tempting. Next time Carrot Cake.Paisanos has a few tables inside and one or two outside. Several customers arrived while I was enjoying my apple slice. Popular places are good places. The staff was pleasant. They are located in Gateway Plaza on Stickney Point Rd just east of Gateway Ave, next to the Ichiban Japanese Restaurant.

GREAT OLD SCHOOL ITALIAN BAKERY. This bakery is a must stop every time I’m in Sarasota. This time we enjoyed fresh cannoli – fresh as in they fill ’em when you order! Best we’ve eaten in years. Same could be said for the eclairs. Their bakery pizza is first rate and the bread and rolls are just what you expect. Also tried a pint of their wedding soup and found it quite tasty, although a little light on the fillings. Have sample a number of different pastries, cakes, and cookies in earlier visits and all were really good.
